wouldn't it help to just use clist_size 1 instead of clist_size 0? The
0 test is bogus if you access clist_size - 1 afterwards, but with the 1
test it works for me as well, i.e. no segfault anymore.

Given that the whole setup works like a charm for me I think the severity is

From reading the changelog entry I would say this bug was fixed in
1.3.6-1. Therefore I downgrade it to normal but leave it to the

I just updated my sid system. This update include the latest udev
(0.090-4) and the latest linux-image. After a reboot I couldn't get into
X anymore. It was possible to start kdm, thus the X server starts
and to do a new release in the next two weeks I'd prefer to not do many
changes that need to be reverted afterwards.

do you have in /etc, in particular in /etc/fstab? Could you please
run the postinst script directly to see which statement creates the
error message?
I have to admit that I did not create a new chroot but updated one to
sid just today. But my chroot installs quota nicely.

with sarge, but
not in etch or sid. I would say it might have to do with you removing
the init script that used to modprobe dm_mod, don't you think?

splay depends on libid3-3.8.3 which does not exist anymore. A simple
recompilation against the up-to-date -dev packages fixes the problem.
