With Epson BX300F all-in-one printer, starting xsane gives this stack:

This is what I tried too:
1. deleting ~/.sane
2. disabling *all* backends but epson2 in /etc/sane.d/dll.conf
Running xsane again gives this now:

When installing ntfs-3g, it is unusable for a joe-user since there is
no group fuse created and thus we can't do:
usermod -G fuse -a joe
To do so, one has to install fuse-utils which installs a fuse group.
Without fuse-utils, it seems
