You are barking at the wrong tree; boot is a statistical package for the R
system and is named after the bootstrapping / resampling statistics it
provides.

Knoppix, as you may know, is not actually created by the Debian Project. So
you also got the wrong bug tracking system.  

I will therefore close the bug report, but cc the message to the main Knoppix
list.

There are various documents suggesting cheatcodes to try to get more verbose
and robust boot methods.
