I tried a direct job... lpr -P printpdf funny.txt # simple text file and it gave no pdf file in return. My primary use of this is with an old DOS program from which I have been capturing printer output under dosemu, which will be emailed to other people. It stopped working as well. I am certain of the dosemu setup, as it was working this morning, and it still works with other designated printers. A test page was sent to the printer using the cups web interface, and a resulting pdf file was apparently created in /var/spool/cups-pdf/ There is no indication of errors in any log file that I can find. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.11.5 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages cups-pdf depends on: ii adduser 3.67.2 Add and remove users and groups ii cupsys 1.1.23-12 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii gs-esp 7.07.1-9 The Ghostscript PostScript interpr ii libc6 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an cups-pdf recommends no packages. -- no debconf information --------------------------------------- Received: (at 331378-close) by bugs.debian.org; 3 Oct 2005 11:08:10 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Oct 03 04:08:10 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from katie by spohr.debian.org with local (Exim 3.36 1 (Debian)) id 1EMO55-0002Ae-00; Mon, 03 Oct 2005 04:02:03 -0700 From: =?utf-8?q?Martin-=C3=89ric_Racine?= <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.56 $ Subject: Bug#331378: fixed in cups-pdf 1.7.3-7 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Archive Administrator <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Mon, 03 Oct 2005 04:02:03 -0700 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 Source: cups-pdf Source-Version: 1.7.3-7 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of cups-pdf, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: cups-pdf_1.7.3-7.diff.gz to pool/main/c/cups-pdf/cups-pdf_1.7.3-7.diff.gz cups-pdf_1.7.3-7.dsc to pool/main/c/cups-pdf/cups-pdf_1.7.3-7.dsc cups-pdf_1.7.3-7_i386.deb to pool/main/c/cups-pdf/cups-pdf_1.7.3-7_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
