I am trying the 1.0.9rc1 but I need libghc6-html-dev to make sure it
builds. I will ask Ian to upload it to haskell-experimental and try to
come up with a diff.gz for 1.0.9rc1

I took a stab at packaging the last release, but got demotivated when it
contained a debian/ dir with a control file which splits hugs in a lot
of different binary packages. :-)

Who added the debian dir upstream anyway? 

I am willing to give it another shot if you don't have the time. Is it
you intention to split the hugs package in a lot of different binary
packages?
