Package: nvidia-kernel-source Version: 169.09-1 I think I'm experiencing the same problem. However, the system doesn't completely freeze, just X is frozen. Surprisingly I can still move my mouse around, but the screen doesn't react in any way, not even if I click on something.
One thing I'm still able to do is shut the system down _cleanly_ by pressing the power button (when it was previously configured in the Gnome Power Manager). It also reacts to sysrq sequences, so I can sync the discs, umount partitions, etc. I've been having this problem for quite a while, I've tested various versions of the 100.14.* branch and I've tried with 169.07 and 169.09, the problem is always the same. BTW, I'm running compiz 0.6.3, but I'm not sure if that is related to the problem. --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-686 Debian Release: lenny/sid 500 testing ftp.us.debian.org --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed =====================================-+-============= libc6 (>= 2.7-1) | 2.7-6 libx11-6 | 2:1.0.3-7 libxext6 | 2:1.0.4-1 nvidia-kernel-169.09 | x11-common (>= 1:7.0.0) | 1:7.2-5 xlibmesa-gl | OR libgl1 | xserver-xorg-core (>= 2:1.3) | 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-12lenny2 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
