Hello! Out of curiousity I replace the dovecot package with an installation from source. I used dovecot 1.0.5, compiled it, deinstalled the Debian packages, corrected the paths to the binaries in dovecot.conf and the error with the mailbox I describe just vanishes. Mailbox access for now for all users.
