As it seems, the bug is caused by the intel driver. Anyone willing to
test the latest 2.1 version from snapshot.debian.net and then do a git
bisect?
For me, this is very unfunny, as the 2.1 versions crash very often on my
855GM.

Can you try with Option AccelMethod XAA in xorg.conf (in the Device
section)?
With this option, corruption gone.
