thanks for packaging kvm.
I get the same problem, which I manage to work around with:
m-a -t clean kvm-source; m-a -t a-i kvm-source
-t is probably not needed, it's just my preference.
The 2.6.25 kernel is the package

This is a problem in m-a: It does not remove the old module before
