I get configure.in:22: error: possibly undefined macro: AC_PROG_SYSCONFTOOL
sysconftool which provides the necessary sysconftool.m4 is not yet packaged for Debian there was an ITP (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=330302) which never resulted in a package. I will reopen the ITP and package sysconftool.
