Hi,
I also encouter this bug.
I apply the patch and try to scan 2 pages and save in pdf, nothing
written about the save process:
Expecting 26099557, found 26099557
Running sane_start for SANE_Handle 52017360
Getting parameters for SANE_Handle 52017360
gscan2pdf: scanning image of size 2480x3508
Same problem here. I just updated to 0.9.31-1, but still i I can only save in
gif, jpeg, png and pnm formats. PDF does not work with any compression format

This is a problem with one of the dependencies, and affects Maverick
too, but
Package: gscan2pdf
Version: 0.9.30-2
Severity: grave
It's been a while and a few upgrades since I last used gscan2pdf,
but no more than a month. At the moment, I cannot save anymore.
After I typed a filename and clicked 'Save', the program just
returns to the dialog box asking me for page range,
Can you save any type of file from gscan2pdf? PNG? DjVu?
