This is supposed to be fixed in libmysqlclient-dev (>= 5.5.23+dfsg-1)
but https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=mysql-5.5 shows
that this packages FTBFS in amd64.

I just compiled the package in a clean and updated amd64 chroot and
using the workaround of adding libssl-dev as a build-dependency made
it compile fine. This bug should fix itself whenever the mysql package
gets fixed.
