Yeah, I don't think this is due to the patch.

It's been mentioned in various places: e.g., [1] [2]

I can't find a report of the tst-cputimer1 failures at
<http://sourceware.org/bugzilla>, so if you have time to reproduce it
with glibc trunk[3] and file one (feel free to cc me) then that would
be great.
