Hi Chris, thanks for taking care of this. You can either try to backport PHP portion of 3.7.0-alpha0 to 3.6.2[*], or check with upstream if they can finish 3.7.0 before stretch freeze and if they can make it package 3.7.0-alpha0 right away. * - or ask upstream to include this update in 3.6.X

Update: none of the zeroc-ice release tarballs (including the current 3.6.2 tarball) seem to support PHP 7 as best I can tell. The v3.7.0-alpha0 tag in the upstream git repository does. https://github.com/zeroc-ice/ice/tree/v3.7.0-alpha0 In the v3.7.0-alpha0 tag, php/src has separate "php5"
