If libopenobex gets removed from Debian, SyncEvolution either has to be
removed as well or direct synchronization with phones via SyncML must be
disabled in it. I know that some people still use it for that, although
the phones that support SyncML over Bluetooth of course are slowly dying
out.

libopenobex is still needed for that because I have not found a way to
do the same with some other library or service. obexd only supports some
higher level OBEX protocols, but not SyncML - at least not as far as I
can tell.
