Bug#723948: libatk-bridge-2.0-0-udeb: uninstallable; depends on missing libatspi2.0-0 (= 2.9.4)

Is this the session bus, or a parallel bus, or both? I don't really know what that means. What I can see in the source code (at-spi2-core/bus/at-spi-bus-launcher.c) is this: name_owner_id = g_bus_own_name (G_BUS_TYPE_SESSION, org.a11y.Bus, That's a session bus, so you need to get one started, somehow. The automagic mechanism which D-Bus has always had is that clients' default session bus address (if they don't see any relevant environment variables) is autolaunch:, which means fork-and-exec dbus-launch, which will look in X11 window properties to try to find a session bus, and if there isn't one, start one itself and advertise it in X11 window properties. The *other* automagic mechanism is to run dbus-launch from a file in /etc/X11/Xsession.d, so that there's already one running. I consider this to be rather unpleasant, particularly the autolaunch: bit (dbus-launch is poorly-documented and confusingly-implemented): it's primarily there to support the run a single GNOME/KDE app under fvwm use-case. I'd prefer it if graphical environments that want D-Bus could run their own dbus-daemon and put $DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS in graphical clients' environment. g-i is basically a very small graphical environment, so I'd prefer it if g-i could take responsibility for doing that. dbus-run-session(1) is a new tool which I added to make that easier: it's a command prefix-style tool, like chroot or sudo (but retaining a supervising parent process rather than ending with an exec(), so more like schroot, really). It starts a dbus-daemon as a child, finds out the address, and starts the process given in its arguments (the session) as a second child, with the D-Bus address in its environment. It watches its children until the session terminates, then kills the dbus-daemon and exits itself. For now, my plan is to put together a dbus-udeb (with dbus-daemon, dbus-uuidgen and probably dbus-run-session), a libdbus-1-3-udeb, and possibly a dbus-x11-udeb containing dbus-launch. I'd appreciate it if dbus-x11-udeb could go away before Jessie is released, though. S -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#725225: Can not detect BPM or beat
Hi! On Fri, Oct 04, 2013 at 09:24:28PM +0900, Takeshi Soejima wrote: Any similarity? Not a wrong detection as written, but completely no detection. On my wheezy machine, I have installed the package for ubuntu from the official mixxx site (1.11.0-bzr3863-ppa1~oneiric1), and works fine. So I compare it and this sid package (1.11.0~dfsg-1), then notice missing libraries. Coping the plugin from my wheezy to sid /usr/lib/mixxx/plugins/vamp/libmixxxminimal.so and installing the package libvamp-sdk2 then the mixxx can detect BPM and beat. Hmm... I guess this has been a fault of mine :-( I didn't check for any new file installed with this new version and missed that library, since former versions didn't have any library at all. Alessio already pushed a commit fixing this. Thanks for reporting and your efforts in solving this issue. Cheers. -- Matteo F. Bug#722726: picard: Depends on missing python2
notfixed 723029 picard/1.2-2 notfixed 723029 1.2-2+b1 thanks Hi Bob (and any one else following this bug), This bug has been marked done, but since it is found in the same version as it is fixed the BTS assumes the fixed version is wrong and ignores. This means the BTS correctly thinks this bug still affect version 1.2-2. Furthermore, it is my understanding that the BTS is /not/ aware of binNMU versions (i.e. the fixed in 1.2-2+b1 is ignored as well). I will not solve this problem by doing the best thing I can (in the given situation), which is to remove the fixed version. If a bug is marked done and have no fixed version, the BTS will assume it was not a bug after all and ignore the found versions as well[1]. ~Niels [1] One might be tempted to remove the found version instead. Though I cannot remember if it has any consequences on the bug suddenly affecting older versions. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#725380: 4.1.0 for jessie
Package: postbooks Version: 4.0.2-6 Severity: serious I'm opening this bug so that 4.0.x won't propagate to jessie The latest upload got stuck in the NEW queue again. When it is released by the FTP masters I will then prepare 4.1.0 and then this bug can be closed. This will mean that users of jessie won't have the hassle of installing 4.0.2 and then having to make a schema update soon afterwards. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#725383: FTBFS on kfreebsd-*: SYS_gettid is Linux-specific
Source: osgearth Version: 2.4.0+dfsg-5 Tags: patch User: debian-...@lists.debian.org Usertags: kfreebsd X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-...@lists.debian.org Severity: serious Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past) Hi, osgearth fails to build on kfreebsd-* because it tries to directly use a Linux-specific syscall: https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=osgearthsuite=sid cd /«BUILDDIR»/osgearth-2.4.0+dfsg/build/src/osgEarth /usr/bin/c++ -DOSGEARTH_LIBRARY -DQT_CORE_LIB -DQT_GUI_LIB -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DTIXML_USE_STL -DosgEarth_EXPORTS -g -O2 -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -Wformat -Werror=format-security -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -O3 -DNDEBUG -fPIC -isystem /usr/include/qt4 -isystem /usr/include/qt4/QtGui -isystem /usr/include/qt4/QtCore -I/«BUILDDIR»/osgearth-2.4.0+dfsg/src -I/usr/include/gdal -I/usr/include/curl-o CMakeFiles/osgEarth.dir/ThreadingUtils.cpp.o -c /«BUILDDIR»/osgearth-2.4.0+dfsg/src/osgEarth/ThreadingUtils.cpp /«BUILDDIR»/osgearth-2.4.0+dfsg/src/osgEarth/ThreadingUtils.cpp: In function 'unsigned int osgEarth::Threading::getCurrentThreadId()': /«BUILDDIR»/osgearth-2.4.0+dfsg/src/osgEarth/ThreadingUtils.cpp:42:30: error: 'SYS_gettid' was not declared in this scope return (unsigned)::syscall(SYS_gettid); ^ osgearth also knows how to use Windows and Mac OS X--specific syscalls to get a thread ID. This is not portable and there is nothing directly equivalent on FreeBSD, see: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-hackers/2010-June/031992.html A workaround may be to use pthread_self(), except that the exported getCurrentThreadId function has to return 'unsigned int'. On kfreebsd-amd64 a 64-bit pointer to a pthread_t is not absolutely guaranteed to be unique if truncated to 32 bits, but it is extremely likely, and certainly better than nothing... Bug#725383: FTBFS on kfreebsd-*: SYS_gettid is Linux-specific
Hi Steven, On 10/04/2013 11:33 PM, Steven Chamberlain wrote: Hi, osgearth fails to build on kfreebsd-* because it tries to directly use a Linux-specific syscall: https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=osgearthsuite=sid cd /«BUILDDIR»/osgearth-2.4.0+dfsg/build/src/osgEarth /usr/bin/c++ -DOSGEARTH_LIBRARY -DQT_CORE_LIB -DQT_GUI_LIB -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DTIXML_USE_STL -DosgEarth_EXPORTS -g -O2 -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -Wformat -Werror=format-security -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -O3 -DNDEBUG -fPIC -isystem /usr/include/qt4 -isystem /usr/include/qt4/QtGui -isystem /usr/include/qt4/QtCore -I/«BUILDDIR»/osgearth-2.4.0+dfsg/src -I/usr/include/gdal -I/usr/include/curl-o CMakeFiles/osgEarth.dir/ThreadingUtils.cpp.o -c /«BUILDDIR»/osgearth-2.4.0+dfsg/src/osgEarth/ThreadingUtils.cpp /«BUILDDIR»/osgearth-2.4.0+dfsg/src/osgEarth/ThreadingUtils.cpp: In function 'unsigned int osgEarth::Threading::getCurrentThreadId()': /«BUILDDIR»/osgearth-2.4.0+dfsg/src/osgEarth/ThreadingUtils.cpp:42:30: error: 'SYS_gettid' was not declared in this scope return (unsigned)::syscall(SYS_gettid); ^ osgearth also knows how to use Windows and Mac OS X--specific syscalls to get a thread ID. Please refer to attached patch which fixes package build at least. Thanks! Thanks for the patch. Another option I've looked at is to use the undocumented thr_self(2) syscall, this was recommended over pthread_self() on freebsd-hackers@: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-hackers/2010-June/031991.html The attached patch is what I was working on, but it breaks the build even worse than without it. I'll have another go at making my patch work, otherwise I'll apply your patch to at least get the package to build. I had changed the package to linux-any since upstream doesn't support FreeBSD, but that's not really a fix for the problem.
