Bug#744943: ruby-sass: Cannot load sass/script/node

I suspect this problem to be caused not by changes to ruby-sass code (it

I guess this could be solved by a simple binNMU of ruby-compass.

I re-built ruby-compass in unstable but it did not fix the problem.

Oh - there goes my theory.

Thanks for testing, that's a nice help - I will inspect closer if those
packages need tightened dependencies on each other.

Bug#745354: apt-get fails on cdrom added with apt-cdrom while updating

2014-04-21 Thread David Kalnischkies

Hi,

The very sparse description indicates this has nothing to do with d-i,
so removing that tag, the security tag was already dropped by someone
else. Severity also lowered to normal levels as error messages rarely
fit into this category. We can inflate it again later if need be.
(mentally this message also adds a 'moreinfo' tag, see below)

Please do not set them at random. If you aren't sure, leave them at
their defaults. Every error is of course 'critical' in the perception of
the user facing it, but as long as it isn't eating your data, the world
is probably able to continue to spin a little while longer.

-- Some information added by myself:

I have added the architecture i386 to install skype, but my computer has
architekture amd64. It could be that the output of apt-get tries to say that
 there is an
error with architekture i386 - but I don't know real about it.

Well, for starters it would be nice if you could tell us the actual
commands you executed and error messages you are seeing, otherwise
we have no idea what you are talking about.

Best regards

Hello Tim,

genus2reduction is obsolete. The functionnality has been absorbed by the
libpari library in version 2.7, specifically the function genus2reduction.
Thus there is no point to upgrade the package to build with pari 2.7.

Dear Maintainer,

mplayer under unstable for loongson-2f depends upon libavutil51, which
is no longer present under unstable. It also depends upon some other

It looks like mplayer needs to be kept up to date against other media packages.

Bug#745398: [DFSG] Source package contains non-free IETF RFC/I-D

2014-04-21 Thread bastien ROUCARIES
Subject: Source package contains non-free IETF RFC/I-D
Severity: serious
Package: dovecot
Version: 1:2.2.12-2
User: debian-rele...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: nonfree-doc rfc

Hi!

This source package contains the following files from the
IETF under non-free license terms:

pigeonhole/doc/rfc/body.rfc5173.txt

The license on RFC/I-Ds is not DFSG-free, see:

 * http://wiki.debian.org/NonFreeIETFDocuments
 * http://bugs.debian.org/199810

According to the squeeze/wheezy release policy, source packages must be
DFSG-free, see:

 * http://release.debian.org/squeeze/rc_policy.txt
 * http://release.debian.org/wheezy/rc_policy.txt

The severity is serious, because this violates the Debian policy:

 * http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-archive.html#s-dfsg

There are (at least) three ways to fix this problem. In order of
preference:

1. Ask the author of the RFC to re-license the RFC under a free
license. A template for this e-mail request can be found at
   http://wiki.debian.org/NonFreeIETFDocuments

2. Remove the non-free material from the source, e.g., by re-packaging
the upstream archive and adding 'dfsg' to the Debian package
   version name.

3. Move the package to non-free.

General discussions are kindly requested to take place on debian-legal
or debian-devel in the thread with Subject: Non-free IETF RFC/I-Ds in
source packages.

Dear maintainer,

libfilesystem-ruby produces one or more binary packages that depends
on ruby1.8, or it uses ruby1.8 to build. ruby1.8 is unmaintainable at
this point, and we can't keep it for Jessie. We plan to request its
removal in 4 weeks.

Recommendations for some common cases:

If your package contains Ruby programs that are hardcoded to use
ruby1.8, you need to port those to a more recent version. Please use
/usr/bin/ruby instead. Please do not change to /usr/bin/ruby1.9.1

If your package calls `ruby1.8` during build, please make it call
`ruby` instead. If your scripts don't work with a newer Ruby, you
need to port them. Please do not change `ruby1.8` to `ruby1.9.1` as
it will require more work later when we want to get rid of ruby1.9.1
(and we will).

If your packages builds binary extensions for ruby1.8, you need to
remove those. Please consider building binary extensions for all
supported Ruby versions. You can get a list of supported Ruby
versions at runtime by build-depending on gem2deb and running

$ dh_ruby --print-supported

I'm flagging this bug as release critical, since it's impossible to
have ruby1.8 in the next release.

If you need advice on the best way to handle your package, please
feel free to get in touch with debian-r...@lists.debian.org

Hi Aaron,

The failing tests were dropped upstream, so I believe the problem you
are reporting is fixed in the latest version of the package, which now
ships the latest upstream version (0.8.2).

Please let me know if there are further issues with this.

According to the squeeze/wheezy release policy, source packages must be
DFSG-free, see:

 * http://release.debian.org/squeeze/rc_policy.txt
 * http://release.debian.org/wheezy/rc_policy.txt

The severity is serious, because this violates the Debian policy:

 * http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-archive.html#s-dfsg

Thanks,

Bastien

Bug#741826: needs python-all python3-all in build-deps

2014-04-21 Thread John Paul Adrian Glaubitz
With this fixed, the package builds cleanly in a pbuilder chroot and
should therefore be fine on the buildds as well.

Someone interested in doing an NMU? I'd go ahead if no one else steps
in. It's a very simple change after all.

Package: gtkrsync
Version: 1.0.4+nmu1
Severity: serious
Justification: uninstallable

gtkrsync still depends on the not available libffi5

I guess a rebuild is the only thing necessary.

Thanks

I don't think nvclock is useful any more - it only supports rather old
devices, and recent security fixes in the nvidia kernel module seem to
cause problems accessing some internal structures...

So let's keep this out of jessie unless someone can demonstrate that
nvclock still works somewhere.
I don't have any reasonably old GPUs to test nvclock at all.

Severity: critical

Justification: root security hole

Dear Maintainer,

Adding systemd support has caused the daemon to be run as root, at least
when started via systemd, which is strongly not recommended. It has also
made debugging a little more difficult, since logging is done via syslogd.

A patch is provided.

Best regards,

Carlos Maddela

Bug#738735: linop: FTBFS: dh_sphinxdoc: Sphinx documentation not found

2014-04-21 Thread Ghislain Vaillant
Hi Aaron,

Mea culpa, I messed up my sbuild settings and did not test the package
under proper buildd configuration before flagging the package as ready
for upload. I have added the necessary override on dh_sphinxdoc to avoid
this issue in version 0.8.2-2 of the package.

Thanks,

Ghis

Bug#745439: pyro4: doesn't include the actual pyro4 library files for python 2.x

2014-04-21 Thread Irmen de Jong
Package: pyro4
Version: 4.23-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

when installing the pyro4 package there won't be any actual pyro4 library files
installed for python 2.7
I.e. dpkg-query -L pyro4 only lists a few things in /etc and /usr, and 'import
Pyro4' will obviously fail under python (2.7)

I noticed that the python3-pyro4 package was installed as a dependency (not
sure why) and that one does include the proper library files. dpkg-query -L
python3-pyro4 does indeed list the pyro4 library under /usr/lib/python3.

I expected the pyro4 library files to be installed somewhere in
/usr/lib/python2.7
I didn't expect the python3-pyro4 package to be installed as a dependency

Regards
Irmen de Jong

Sure, as pyro4 is only a meta-package. It depends either on
python2-pyro4 or python3-pyro4 .

I noticed that the python3-pyro4 package was installed as a dependency (not

Yes, python3-pyro4 is the Python 3.x variant of your package.

I expected the pyro4 library files to be installed somewhere in
 /usr/lib/python2.7
 Please install python2-pyro4 for this.

I didn't expect the python3-pyro4 package to be installed as a dependency
I'll make more clear with the next upload that pyro4 is only a
virtual package that depends on the actual version of Pyro 4.x .
However you are right with the missing 'serpent' serializer. Will
package that soon.

Thanks for your reports,
Laszlo/GCS

Bug#745444: antpm: FTBFS: antpm-downloader.1: No such file or directory

2014-04-21 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Source: antpm
Version: 1.16-2
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source

Builds of antpm explicitly targetting only its architecture-dependent
binary packages (as on the autobuilders, or with debuild -B or the
like) have been failing, even though those are in fact its only binary
packages:

 dh_installman -a
debian/antpm-downloader.1: No such file or directory at
/usr/bin/dh_installman line 130.
  make: *** [binary-arch] Error 2

The problem appears to be that a handful of important commands appear
only in the build target, which such builds skip. I'd suggest either
moving those commands to the override_dh_install target, which should
run in time, or renaming build to build-arch and having build depend
on build-arch.

Could you please take a look?

Thanks!

Bug#745449: povray: FTBFS w/o writable $HOME

2014-04-21 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Source: povray
Version: 1:3.7.0.0-1
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

povray attempts to install configuration files under $HOME, which is
inappropriate in general and fails outright on the autobuilders:

Yeah, this is directly imported from libgcrypt and I think can only

 * http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-archive.html#s-dfsg

Thanks,

Dear maintainer,

your package libembperl-perl is provding an Apache2 web server module.
We're upgrading Apache to the new upstream version 2.4 [1] (tracked
as transition bug #661958). This requires all modules to be rebuilt
due to ABI changes. Thus, you need to rebuild and reupload your
Apache2 module package in a version compatible to our new package
available in experimental [2]. Please note it is not enough to
simply rebuild the module - it needs some adaptions in the module
package metadata. We have written packaging guidelines for our
reverse dependencies [3]. Please read it carefully, it should be able
to answer most of your questions. Do also look at dh_apache2
(available through the dh-apache2 package) which can simplify
packaging Apache2 modules. In short, we want to highlight these
changes you need to be aware of.

* APIs changed for some cases [3]. Chances are your module needs some
adaptions, please get in touch with upstream or us if you need help
to port your module to Apache 2.4.

* MPM packages are gone. You cannot depend or conflict with a
particular MPM anymore. If your module does not work with a
particular module, make sure to make it abort with an error if
loaded together with an incompatible MPM. You can use our
apache2-maintscript-helper [4] to switch to the MPM of your choice
  in your maintainer scripts.

* Do not build-depend on apache2-threaded-dev or apache2-prefork-dev
anymore. Just like MPMs are gone, are our MPM -dev packages as
well. All modules need to simply build-depend on apache2-dev.

* Do NOT depend on apache2, apache2-common or any other real apache2
package in your binary module package. Depend on our virtual
  apache2-api-20120211 package only!

* Do NOT call a2enmod/a2dismod in your maintainer scripts. Use our
apache2-maintscript-helper [3] instead. This is required to get a
uniform and stateful handling of all Apache2 modules.

You can look at our Apache 2.4 packaging hints [5] for hands-on
tutorials. Please note: This bug is filed as important for now. As
the time goes by we plan make it a release critical severity. In the
consequences your module either needs an update or is going to be
removed from Wheezy. For the time being please tag the bug as pending
as soon as you have a package ready. We strongly recommend that at
least maintainers of complex module packages make an upload to
experimental as well. Of course, uploading simple modules to
experimental is welcome, too.

Bug#744152: gdm3 doesn't display anything at all anymore

2014-04-21 Thread Clemens Brauers

Hi,
I can confirm this bug, but it seems not to be with the package gdm3
directly.
After downgrading many packages and reinstalling them one by one
somewhere in this bunch should be the cause.

Bug#745462: linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64: rtl8192ce driver crashes

Upgrade to linux-image-3.13-1-amd64 made the nvidia module build fine by DKMS,

Package: nvidia-legacy-304xx-kernel-source
Version: 304.117-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Upgrade to linux-image-3.13-1-amd64 made the nvidia module build fine by DKMS,
but loading failes with the dmesg entry:
kernel: nvidia: Unknown symbol acpi_os_wait_events_complete (err 0)

Using linux-image-3.12-1-amd64 however works.

The PlRPC module uses Storable in an unsafe way, leading to a remote
code execution vulnerability (in both the client and the server).

   Upstream bug report:

   https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=90474

A fix (which is not yet available) requires a protocol change. I
think we should remove the package from the distribution instead.

Anibal, what's the status? Do you agree with the removal?

Yes, I agree. I was waiting to get it fixed upstream.

Please file a removal bug against ftp.debian.org.

FTR, libdbi-perl which had a Suggests to libplrpc-perl now dropped
that Suggests and added the patch tfor documenting the security
problems:
