Bug#744943: ruby-sass: Cannot load sass/script/node
Quoting Dmitry Smirnov (2014-04-21 04:28:43) On Sun, 20 Apr 2014 12:56:30 Jonas Smedegaard wrote: I suspect this problem to be caused not by changes to ruby-sass code (it was upgraded), but instead to change of default Ruby version. I guess this could be solved by a simple binNMU of ruby-compass. I re-built ruby-compass in unstable but it did not fix the problem. Oh - there goes my theory. Thanks for testing, that's a nice help - I will inspect closer if those packages need tightened dependencies on each other. - Jonas -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ [x] quote me freely [ ] ask before reusing [ ] keep private signature.asc Description: signature

Bug#745354: apt-get fails on cdrom added with apt-cdrom while updating
Control: severity -1 normal Control: tags -1 - d-i Hi, On Sun, Apr 20, 2014 at 09:44:38PM +0200, msrd0 wrote: Package: apt Version: 0.9.7.9+deb7u1 Severity: grave Tags: d-i security Justification: user security hole The very sparse description indicates this has nothing to do with d-i, so removing that tag, the security tag was already dropped by someone else. Severity also lowered to normal levels as error messages rarely fit into this category. We can inflate it again later if need be. (mentally this message also adds a 'moreinfo' tag, see below) Please do not set them at random. If you aren't sure, leave them at their defaults. Every error is of course 'critical' in the perception of the user facing it, but as long as it isn't eating your data, the world is probably able to continue to spin a little while longer. -- Some information added by myself: I have added the architecture i386 to install skype, but my computer has architekture amd64. It could be that the output of apt-get tries to say that there is an error with architekture i386 - but I don't know real about it. Well, for starters it would be nice if you could tell us the actual commands you executed and error messages you are seeing, otherwise we have no idea what you are talking about. Remove the non-free material from the source, e.g., by re-packaging the upstream archive and adding 'dfsg' to the Debian package version name. 3. Move the package to non-free. We plan to request its removal in 4 weeks. Recommendations for some common cases: If your package contains Ruby programs that are hardcoded to use ruby1.8, you need to port those to a more recent version. Please use /usr/bin/ruby instead. Please do not change to /usr/bin/ruby1.9.1 If your package calls `ruby1.8` during build, please make it call `ruby` instead. If your scripts don't work with a newer Ruby, you need to port them. Please do not change `ruby1.8` to `ruby1.9.1` as it will require more work later when we want to get rid of ruby1.9.1 (and we will). If your packages builds binary extensions for ruby1.8, you need to remove those. Please consider building binary extensions for all supported Ruby versions. You can get a list of supported Ruby versions at runtime by build-depending on gem2deb and running $ dh_ruby --print-supported I'm flagging this bug as release critical, since it's impossible to have ruby1.8 in the next release. It depends either on python2-pyro4 or python3-pyro4 . I noticed that the python3-pyro4 package was installed as a dependency (not sure why) and that one does include the proper library files. dpkg-query -L python3-pyro4 does indeed list the pyro4 library under /usr/lib/python3. Source: antpm Version: 1.16-2 Severity: serious Justification: fails to build from source Builds of antpm explicitly targetting only its architecture-dependent binary packages (as on the autobuilders, or with debuild -B or the like) have been failing, even though those are in fact its only binary packages: dh_installman -a debian/antpm-downloader.1: No such file or directory at /usr/bin/dh_installman line 130. make: *** [binary-arch] Error 2 The problem appears to be that a handful of important commands appear only in the build target, which such builds skip. We're upgrading Apache to the new upstream version 2.4 [1] (tracked as transition bug #661958). This requires all modules to be rebuilt due to ABI changes. Thus, you need to rebuild and reupload your Apache2 module package in a version compatible to our new package available in experimental [2]. Please note it is not enough to simply rebuild the module - it needs some adaptions in the module package metadata. We have written packaging guidelines for our reverse dependencies [3]. Please read it carefully, it should be able to answer most of your questions. Do also look at dh_apache2 (available through the dh-apache2 package) which can simplify packaging Apache2 modules. In short, we want to highlight these changes you need to be aware of. * APIs changed for some cases [3]. Chances are your module needs some adaptions, please get in touch with upstream or us if you need help to port your module to Apache 2.4. * MPM packages are gone. You cannot depend or conflict with a particular MPM anymore. If your module does not work with a particular module, make sure to make it abort with an error if loaded together with an incompatible MPM. You can use our apache2-maintscript-helper [4] to switch to the MPM of your choice in your maintainer scripts. * Do not build-depend on apache2-threaded-dev or apache2-prefork-dev anymore. Just like MPMs are gone, are our MPM -dev packages as well. All modules need to simply build-depend on apache2-dev. * Do NOT depend on apache2, apache2-common or any other real apache2 package in your binary module package. Depend on our virtual apache2-api-20120211 package only! * Do NOT call a2enmod/a2dismod in your maintainer scripts. Use our apache2-maintscript-helper [3] instead. This is required to get a uniform and stateful handling of all Apache2 modules. You can look at our Apache 2.4 packaging hints [5] for hands-on tutorials. Please note: This bug is filed as important for now. As the time goes by we plan make it a release critical severity. In the consequences your module either needs an update or is going to be removed from Wheezy. For the time being please tag the bug as pending as soon as you have a package ready. We strongly recommend that at least maintainers of complex module packages make an upload to experimental as well. Of course, uploading simple modules to experimental is welcome, too.
