tag 775990 -moreinfo thanks Hey, thanks for the further information. But please if you have some information to bugs, attach them to the bugreport. It is much easier to follow a specific discussion instead of switching between different lists... did you checked if there is a matching upstream bug? This one should go upsteam. Can you check for a matching bug (bugs.kde.org) - if there is none create a new one. Afterwards please let us know the bugnr. regads, sandro -- Weitergeleitete Nachricht -- Betreff: Re: Sqlite akonadi transaction mode fix Datum: Montag, 26. Januar 2015, 09:45:03 Von: David Goodenough david.goodeno...@btconnect.com An: debian-...@lists.debian.org On Wednesday 21 January 2015 09:49:18 David Goodenough wrote: I use KdePIM and thus akonadi with SqLite. I am running unstable and am up to date with fixes. Looking in the KDE bug database I found:- http://osdir.com/ml/kde-commits/2014-07/msg02228.html which seems to address the repeated dialog boxes I get while filters run on my mailboxes, and the log messages of which:- DATABASE ERROR: Error code: 6 DB error: database is deadlocked Error text: database is deadlocked Unable to fetch row Query: UPDATE PimItemTable SET atime = ? WHERE ( ( PimItemTable.id = ? ) ) is an example. All the errors I get currently are deadlock errors. I don't think this fix is in the current build, and I realise that Debian is getting ready for a new release and thus it is unlikely that this fix will be able to be slotted in any time soon. Can I simply get the source, add this one patch and rebuild, or is it more complicated. Also which package(s) would I have to rebuild? Is it just akonadi-backend-sqlite? David Well having loaded the source and looked at it, this patch is already in the system. What this says is that some of the database statements are being executed not in an explicit transaction. If you use transactions it is required that ALL statements are done this way, otherwise the DB will add put default transactions around the unbounded statements and they will not be in the right mode (in this case IMMEDIATE). Normally this will not be a problem, and quite possibly other DBs will get away with this, but SqLite has a non-standard way of doing the locking (this IMMEDIATE mode in the BEGIN TRANSACTION) and my guess is that this is the root of the problem. When I have time I will look at the specific SQL statements that are failing and see if that finds some of the missing beginTransaction calls. Bug#775935: geneweb: FTBFS on various arches: Please run 'make' in directory '../src' first

Bug#776131: Logol dependency
Hi, I am the maintainer of the logol package, impacted by gridengine removal. In fact logol depends (though not mandatory at usage, only highly recommended) on drmaa-java, drmaa is a API ofr cluster computing system (gridengine, torque, ...). The one available on Debian seems to be gridengine only, but a drmaa virtual package could exists that would match any implementation (provides: drmaa). Anyway, I have no specific gridengine dependency, only drmaa. gridengine was the only Java implementation in Debian. The problem of the removal will be the compilation. Logol can work without gridengine (a local mode exists), but library is needed for compilation as usage is available in code. I gonna patch the code to use a fake lib implementation waiting for gridengine being back to avoid being removed. Olivier

Bug#775990: Fwd: Re: Sqlite akonadi transaction mode fix
Unfortunately I have a problem with the KDE bugs system. It says my login is wrong, won't send me the password reminder, and won't let me create a new one. No idea why it does not like me. Bug#775795: Patch to use /usr/sbin/service in Debian service provider
Control: tags -1 +patch Hi I created a patch to use /usr/sbin/service as suggested earlier in this report to start/stop/status/restart services on Debian. I'm a bit reluctant to just NMU puppet and would prefer if one of the maintainers and/or Faidon could have a look at my patch first. If you approve I can then do the NMU if you are short on time. I tested the patch locally and as far as I can see it works fine with systemd and does call the right command. I don't have a system with system V handy to test on. After uninstalling and re-installing the libxml2 (dpkg -P libxml2-dev apt-get install libxml2-dev) it still didn't fix the problem. I checked and this same problems also occers with asterisk-12 too. I did get asterisk to congigure by reverting back to version 2.9.2+dfsg1-1+b1 and this fixed things for me for both *12 and *13. xml2-config --libs gave -lxml2 in both cases. Bug#776697: linux-image-3.16.0-4-686-pae: Boot randomly stucks at a stage
Package: src:linux Version: 3.16.7-ckt2-1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system Dear Maintainer, I'm having some trouble with this version of the kernel that makes my system fail to boot. It looks like that it stucks on a stage, so that the boot process cannot continue. I could not make any video, but here is a photo I toke: http://imgur.com/mWXG9C0 The only solution I found for the moment is to use a previous version of the kernel, which works correctly. Sorry for my bad English, I'm a French user... I stay available if you need more information. Bug#776565: Please verify which patch version is fine
also sprach Andreas B. Mundt a...@debian.org [2015-01-30 18:48 +0100]: * Jonas provided patches in https://bugs.debian.org/759424#57 * I had to modify Jonas' patch slightly to make it work here: https://bugs.debian.org/759424#33 * Jonas disagrees with that modification, the diffence is diskussed in https://bugs.debian.org/759424#62 from my POV. I seem to remember that the files are indeed looked up under ./debian-installer/, which would mean Andi's modifications are needed. Right now, I am setting up a fresh install, so let's see what we can make of all your work. FTR, I have TFTPROOT set to /srv/tftp in di-netboot-assistant.conf, and I use atftpd from xinetd like so (as user nobody): in.tftpd --tftpd-timeout 300 --retry-timeout 5 --mcast-port 1758 \ --mcast-addr 239.239.239.0-255 --mcast-ttl 1 --maxthread 100 --verbose=5 /srv/tftp and I have it all configured so that I don't have to be root (cf. README file). Also, I don't do anything fancy in the DHCP config (cf. #776670), except serving next-server and filename=debian-installer/pxelinux.0 After applying Jonas' five patches and running install, I am left with . ├── debian-installer │ ├── daily │ │ └── i386 │ │ ├── boot-screens │ │ │ ├── […] │ │ ├── initrd.gz │ │ ├── linux │ │ ├── pxelinux.0 │ │ ├── pxelinux.cfg │ │ │ └── default - ../boot-screens/syslinux.cfg │ │ └── version.info │ ├── pxelinux.0 │ ├── pxelinux.cfg │ │ ├── default │ │ ├── menu.c32 │ │ └── vesamenu.c32 │ └── README.txt ├── ldlinux.c32 ├── libcom32.c32 └── libutil.c32 Unfortunately, PXE does not work. Here are the files requested from the TFTP server: atftpd[12256]: Serving debian-installer/pxelinux.0 to 192.168.17.133:43759 atftpd[12256]: Serving debian-installer/ldlinux.c32 to 192.168.17.133:49152 atftpd[12256]: Serving debian-installer//boot/isolinux/ldlinux.c32 to 192.168.17.133:49153 atftpd[12256]: Serving debian-installer//isolinux/ldlinux.c32 to 192.168.17.133:49154 atftpd[12256]: Serving debian-installer//boot/syslinux/ldlinux.c32 to 192.168.17.133:49155 atftpd[12256]: Serving debian-installer//syslinux/ldlinux.c32 to 192.168.17.133:49156 atftpd[12256]: Serving debian-installer//ldlinux.c32 to 192.168.17.133:49157 So yes, ldlinux.c32 is looked up under debian-installer/ldlinux.c32. So now, let's change the /bin/cp destination, as suggested by Andi. Now the install yields: . └── debian-installer ├── daily │ └── i386 │ ├── boot-screens │ │ ├── […] │ ├── initrd.gz │ ├── linux │ ├── pxelinux.0 │ ├── pxelinux.cfg │ │ └── default - ../boot-screens/syslinux.cfg │ └── version.info ├── ldlinux.c32 ├── libcom32.c32 ├── libutil.c32 ├── pxelinux.0 ├── pxelinux.cfg │ ├── default │ ├── menu.c32 │ └── vesamenu.c32 └── README.txt The TFTP server now sees the following requests: atftpd[13592]: Serving debian-installer/pxelinux.0 to 192.168.17.133:37488 atftpd[13592]: Serving debian-installer/ldlinux.c32 to 192.168.17.133:49152 atftpd[13592]: Serving debian-installer/pxelinux.cfg/4274295f-9f3c-4e8b-8c6a-166b2f0241d1 to 192.168.17.133:49153 atftpd[13592]: Serving /debian-installer/pxelinux.cfg/menu.c32 to 192.168.17.133:49164 atftpd[13592]: Serving debian-installer/libutil.c32 to 192.168.17.133:49165 atftpd[13592]: Serving debian-installer/pxelinux.cfg/default to 192.168.17.133:49166 and the menu is shown and installation works! So to this point, I have to say that Andi's modification seems necessary. * I sent some minor improvement patches in https://bugs.debian.org/759424#67 and https://bugs.debian.org/759424#72 Both of these patches make sense to have included and work just fine, mainly because Andi's original patch doesn't apply anymore (Jonas included some changes). Attached is the combined patch against di-n-a which I tested. The di-sources.list patch (the last one) applies fine So my verdict: I think Jonas patches fix a good chunk of the problems, but Andi's modification is required. His other patches also make sense and can/should be included, even for a jessie release. And yes, I think it would be better to fix this for jessie than to leave it as is, or remove the package. This is a package used by hardcore sysadmins only anyway, so I think it's okay to run the risk and simply expect them to use a backport later if there are some bugs we didn't see or introduce here. -- .''`. martin f. krafft madduck@d.o @martinkrafft : :' : proud Debian developer `. `'` http://people.debian.org/~madduck `- Debian - when you have better things to do than fixing systems --- /tmp/di-netboot-assistant 2015-01-30 21:49:56.480240446 +0100 +++ /usr/bin/di-netboot-assistant 2015-01-30 22:16:56.650858509 +0100 @@ -200,12 +200,13 @@ #

Again, I will double check later today. I said I would check but I never followed up on that :). I already deleted the group so I could not see who it was. I could not umount /proc in a container, and I ended up getting too lazy to set up a chroot (yes I know it is pretty easy, I am just kind of busy and tired). That said your hypothesis that it is a udevadm failure seems extremely likely. OK. Do you have ovirt-guest-agent installed, ie if I update it, would you test it on your system?
