I can NMU if the maintainers do not have time to work on in soon.

Package: linux-image-2.6.24-1-686
Version: 2.6.24-6
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software

Hardware: IBM Thinkpas R60 + Intel 3945 wireless
After upgrading to kernel 2.6.24 and switch to iwl3945 module, my wireless
stop working. The 'firmware-iwlwifi' package(ver:0.10) was correctly installed.
In older kernels, I used the deprecated ipw3945 module, and it worked
perfectly without any problem. Now with iwl3945 + firmware-iwlwifi, it's
totally broken.

Symptoms:

iwlist wlan0 scan always yield: no result. (The Intel AP was just beside me)
Network manager get no available wireless.
iwconfig or ifconfig can correctly display the information of the card.
ifconfig wlan0 up manually didn't help at all.
iwconfig wlan0 essid manually can associate an access point, but
dhclient wlan0 failed to connect.
Manually specify access point didn't work in Network Manager. It can find
the access point and get signal strength after manually specified.
However, it seldom get connected succesfully.
Sometimes, after trying 'iwconfig wlan0 essid' and 'dhclient wlan0' for
many times, or trying to connect via Network Manager many times,
it got connected. However the connection is quite unstable.

In older kernels with the deprecated ipw3945, none of these happened.

dmesg output:

I got preceding dmesg output by manually doing 'iwconfig wlan0 essid' and
subsequent 'dhclient wlan0', and I got connected after trying 3 times.
However, 3 minutes later, it was disconnected.

After googling, I found many reports regarding to this module in
many different distros. However there symptoms are not the same with mine.
If any other information is needed to fix the problem, please tell me.
Hope this can be fixed before lenny release. Thank you very much.

2008-05-16 Thread 洪任諭
I have read http://wiki.debian.org/iwlwifi last week, but that
didn't help at all.
After reading your suggestion, I've upgrade to debian sid with kernel
2.6.25-2-686.
However, 'iwlist wlan0 scan' still shows: no scan result. Network
manager still got no AP.
Upgrading to the latest kernel didn't help much.
Besides, my debian lenny system was built from clean install, not
upgraded from etch.
I haven't use the old ipw3945 on this newly installed system.

Furthermore, I have Windows Vista on this laptop, too.
The card works perfectly and can get connected very fast under Vista.
So, apparantly it's not a hardware problem.

Try updating to latest Qt4 in unstable and kdegames in experimental (4.0.72),
if it still does not work, try renaming temporaly you .kde4 to something like
.kde4-old and try again, I'm almost sure it'll work then. I did have this same

I had the initial problem too and I tried to change MODULES. Now the boot
process does find the root fs and starts initializing stuff, however it gets
stuck after loading ata_piix:

Seems like something is still missing, and I have not figured out what yet..

Bug#481460: xcircuit FTBFS when built with -rsudo

2008-05-16 Thread Thiemo Seufer
Package: xcircuit
Version: 3.6.130.dfsg-1
Severity: serious

Xcircuit fails to build with -rsudo (like the autobuilders for alpha,
mips and mipsel do). This is caused by the debian/rules clean target
which touches config.status, which leads to wrong permissions for
the file.

I fail to understand why all this touch magic is done in the first
place, it looks like an attempt to avoid autotools despite patching
.in/.am files.

What exactly do you want me to do?

Upgrading to the latest kernel didn't help much.

Bug#476504: No way to compile NVIDIA with 2.6.25-2-686 kernel

2008-05-16 Thread MarioDebian
Hi.

I have read this bug report and have tried all patches.

I have packaged 173.08 version and don't compile.

All time I get some XEN warnings or errors...

Why CONFIG_XEN is enabled by default?

# grep XEN /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.25-2-686/.config
CONFIG_XEN=y
CONFIG_XEN_BLKDEV_FRONTEND=m
CONFIG_XEN_NETDEV_FRONTEND=m
CONFIG_HVC_XEN=y

In 2.6.24 CONFIG_XEN is not set.

Error looks like this:

In file included from /usr/src/modules/nvidia-kernel/nv/nv.c:14:
/usr/src/modules/nvidia-kernel/nv/nv-linux.h:112:23: error:
asm/maddr.h: No such file or directory

This include file loads when CONFIG_XEN is enabled

I attach complete module-assistant output.

Thanks

Bug#481469: dovecot-common: mail_extra_groups deprecation not fixed very helpfully for me and probably most users

2008-05-16 Thread Chris Evans
Package: dovecot-common
Version: 1.0.rc15-2etch4
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I see that the upgrade which deprecates mail_extra_groups is regarded as having
been fixed.
However, I don't think the fix is optimal for most of us. I opted to use my
old config file when upgrading
as there was no clear warning not to do this, then a coincidental upgrade more
recently forced a restart of
dovecot which ran automatically so I didn't see the error message. Because it
had been an ssh related upgrade
it was a bit slow to realise it was dovecot that was refusing to run, not an
access problem. However, when I
did realise the console message dovecot gives just says that mail_extra_groups
is deprecated which I usually
take to mean not advised but will still run. It looked from that message as
if dovecot was loading so it
was only when I looked in the dovecot log that I saw it was being killed by
interrupt 15 (still not a very
clear message). When I looked in my dovecot.conf I of course still saw the old
mail_extra_groups which seemed
confusing but grepping the documentation in both dovecot-pop3d and
dovecot-common didn't find anything about
mail_extra_groups (perhaps I should have zgrep'ed, hm, OK, that gets me more
but not a clear description of
what to do if you chose to use your old conf file). Anyway, I've changed to
mail_access_groups in my dovecot.conf
and everything is fine now. However, I do recommend that the messages are
changed to avoid relative lusers
such as myself running into this. I would also recommend back propagating the
changes as searchgin for
mail_extra_ on wiki.dovecot.org found nothing.

Many thanks for your work on this and sorry to cause work.

Chris Evans

Bug#479668: debian : tuxguitar : wrapper script

2008-05-16 Thread Julian Casadesus
Hi,

Ok, i'm not sure why it happen under your JVM version (Sun 1.6.0_06).
But i know it happen with some GNU/Classpath JVM based.

Some JVMs can't take a folder as a resource stream:
Plugins on tuxguitar is an example of that
tuxguitar needs the plugins/ resource, what is a folder at
/usr/share/tuxguitar/ ( on classpath )
but if JVM don't found the resource, so tuxguitar can't iterate the files in it.

You told the skin is fine.
But i'm sure, if you go to Tools - Settings : Skin you'll not found any skin
available at the list.
and Tools - Settings : Language also may be empty.

To fix that, i added the JVM property tuxguitar.share.path, to allow specify
the installation share path.

That property must be setted on the launcher script (by the way will be
needed to run under other JVMs).

Cheers
Julian.

Bug#481447: The initramfs doesn't care

Hi Christian,
Multipath uses (regardeless of it's an initramfs or not)
/lib/udev/scsi_id _except_ if you have specified an alternate path in
/etc/multipath.conf (which also ends up in the initramfs). Could you
check if this is the case on your system?
I just double checked the sources and there really isn't any reference
to /sbin/scsi_id anymore.

I've got no answer to this question for nearly 24 hours. Because I consider
it more important to fix a known issue _now_ instead of doing a long research
for other issues for perhaps weeks I will upload packages with the proposed
fix in the next hour. Other issues might be solved in later uploads.

Please tell me what I should do to support the security team. It's just
my first security relevant bug.

Kind regards

  Andreas.

If you have a fix for unstable please upload it with urgency=medium or
high and mention of the CVE id in the changelog. If you suspect that the
fix may be incomplete then mention that in the changelog aswell.

For stable we'd rather wait a bit to see if there are indeed more issues
there.

The appended patch fixes the FTBFS on mips and presumably also mipsel

Bug#481460: xcircuit FTBFS when built with -rsudo

2008-05-16 Thread Margarita Manterola
Hola Thiemo Seufer!

Xcircuit fails to build with -rsudo (like the autobuilders for alpha,
mips and mipsel do). This is caused by the debian/rules clean target
which touches config.status, which leads to wrong permissions for
 the file.

Yes, I was aware, and I even have the fixed package, I'll be uploading it
this weekend.

I fail to understand why all this touch magic is done in the first
place, it looks like an attempt to avoid autotools despite patching
 .in/.am files.

Yes, that's why. The modification made in the .in/.am files is not worth
re-running all the autotools files, because it only deletes the
instructions regarding the directory removed due to dfsg issues.

Thanks for reminding me of this.

You didn't Cc the ruby1.8 maintainers when reassigning.

After actually looking at the compiler message, I can see that it seems
to be an error in ruby's include file. Let me know if you feel
otherwise, otherwise please ignore this report.

Other ruby1.8 maintainers: we have an RC bug, see #480779.

Hi

The following CVE(0) has been issued against wordnet.

CVE-2008-2149:

Stack-based buffer overflow in the searchwn function in Wordnet 2.0,
2.1, and 3.0 might allow context-dependent attackers to execute
arbitrary code via a long command line option. NOTE: this issue probably
does not cross privilege boundaries except in cases in which Wordnet is
used as a back end.

More information can be found in the gentoo bugreport(1).
I filled it as an RC bug, because wordnet is sometimes used as a backend
for web applications

Please mention the CVE id in your changelog, when you fix this bug.

Cheers
Steffen

Are you on i386 or amd64? I guess i386 given the '686' above. I tried
it on amd64 and it built fine there. XEN is NOT enabled on the 2.6.25
amd64 kernel. Perhaps that is an inconsistency that should be fixed in
the kernel package. The changelog says they are enabling xen guest
support in all x86 kernels.

The files
* sound/oss/ymfpci_image.h
* sound/pci/ymfpci/ymfpci_image.h
(which are bascially identical)
consist of sourceless microcode, with no copyright statement or permission
to distribute. These are probably undistributable.

This probably means that the whole ymfpci driver (both versions) is unusable,
since the driver appears to reinstall the image even after a temporary
suspend/resume-type power-down. :-P

(The alternative, as usual, is to rewrite it to use userland loading, but I
have absolutely no idea how to write such a thing.)

Package: linux-2.6
Severity: serious
Justification: http://www.debian.org/vote/2006/vote_007

Well, in http://www.debian.org/vote/2006/vote_007, we voted about the kernel
firmwares, and among others claimed :

  3. We assure the community that there will be no regressions in the progress
made for freedom in the kernel distributed by Debian relative to the Sarge
  release in Etch

and :

  4. ... as long as we are legally allowed to do so, and the firmware is
distributed upstream under a license that complies with the DFSG.

Both of these restrictions are not respected by the current linux-2.6 source
tarball, and the tg3 firmware driver in particular.

The tg3 firmware was stripped from the sarge kernel, it is a non-free but
redistributable binary blob, and this is thus a regression with regard to the
sarge release.

Secondly, the tg3 firmware licence is :

 * Firmware is:
 * Derived from proprietary unpublished source code,
 *  Copyright (C) 2000-2003 Broadcom Corporation.
 *
 * Permission is hereby granted for the distribution of this firmware
 * data in hexadecimal or equivalent format, provided this copyright
 *  notice is accompanying it.

which would never pass the DFSG in any way. The licence clearly state it is a
binary derived from unpublished source code, and neither the source code is
available, nor is there any right of modification involved in it.

It is astounding how, Steve Langasek as the lead RM, specifically asked for
a GR on the subject in order to know how to act as RM, and then, even before
the vote finished, claimed he would not respect it.

Friendly,

Sven Luther

I just followed

and unfortuantely it is to late now because the package just hit unstable.
Feel free to NMU if there are any reasons to do so.

Just for the sake of interest: What is the essential difference between
the patch above and snprintf()?

Apart from that I think fixing this for now is fine,
we can issue more updates later.

As Thijs already mentioned, please include the CVE id in
your changelog.

As I said this is just done

The latter is safer, because the tmpbuf buffer will not overflow even if
somebody decides to reduce its size.

Bug#481499: soci FTBFS on mips

2008-05-16 Thread Thiemo Seufer
Package: soci
Version: 2.2.0-3
Severity: serious
Tags: patch

Soci fails to build on mips, mipsel, armel and presumably arm because
it tries to use std::snprintf. This is, however, a function in the
global namespace, and only retained as an alias in std:: for backward
compatibility purposes on other architectures.

The appended patch fixes this (and was tested on mips).

I first thought the buffer you write into is also 200 bytes
big then the 0 byte sprintf writes at the end would cause an
off-by-one. I just saw that its 256 bytes big so this should
be no problem. However I still prefer clean fixes and
snprintf is the clean fix for boundary problems of sprintf.

Anyway, nothing that needs to be fixed with an additional
upload.

Kind regards

Yes, I left some space. You have to add the fix format string
to 200 which is all in all something less than the allocated size
of 256.

Hi,

It'd help if you could pinpoint the exact issue; looks like it could
 be update-inetd failing here.

What exactly do you want me to do?

Running the postinst set -x should be enough to know what's failing.

Thanks,

JB.

Hi,
vlc is vulnerable to a local privilege escalation[0]:
| At startup, VLC recursively scans the modules/ and plugins/ subdirectories
from
| the current working directory, and tries to execute the vlc_entry__0_8_6 (or
| another in other VLC versions) symbol from any file matching the
| lib*_plugin.so pattern.

An attacker could use this to execute code by providing a crafted library file.

Patch:
http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=commit;h=c7cef4fdd8dd72ce0a45be3cda8ba98df5e83181

This issue doesn't have a CVE id yet, I already request one and will update
this bug report if I got it.

Make sure to use it on your changelog then if you close the bug.

Package: mozilla-plugin-vlc
Version: 0.8.6.e-2.1
Severity: grave
Tags: security patch
Justification: user security hole

The vlc binary package part of CVE-2007-6683 has been fixed as per
#458318. However, the issue affecting the mozilla plugin as noted here:
http://mailman.videolan.org/pipermail/vlc-devel/2007-December/037726.html
seems to still be wide open.

Upstream patch is here, but note that this will partially disable existing
functionality:
http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=commit;h=b426b192c7712eaa08c5f55d08ef648226d6d421

As far as I know affects both Etch and Lenny.

Regards,

Unfortunately, the change of an init script level consists of changing
symbolic links and Policy 10.7.3 doesn't apply on symbolic links. See
bug 412668.

So, the severity should probably be lowered.

stop reopening that bug if you are not a MAINTAINER

 dealt with.

File drivers/net/pcmcia/ositech.h (which is mentioned in first message
and marked as nondistributable at
http://wiki.debian.org/KernelFirmwareLicensing ) has *not* been dealt
with yet.

It is present in both 2.6.24-6 [*] and 2.6.25-3, under GPL-license and
containing binary firmware.

[*] This is earliest version = 2.6.24-1 which I could find for
downloading

ps. I recently sent additional information to bug #383403 (merged with
this bug) which shows that is has *not* been dealt with either.

if you find additional DFSG violations report a new bug.

This clearly isn't additional DFSG violation.

I hope you don't continue closing bugs which has *not* been dealt with
yet (unless you can show that such behaviour is acceptable by
Debian, which I doubt.)

stop this game or i get you blacklisted on debian bug tracking system.

I do not like such threats when I havn't done anything wrong (according
to my knowledge).

I was acting exactly as you requested. IMHO you said that
reopening should be done only by maintainer or by someone with info
that bug had not been dealt with.

I'm not a maintainer, but I did have info that bug had not been
dealt with, so I reopened the bug with that info.

I fail to see any reason to threaten me with blacklisting.

IMHO it is you who should've been threatened with blacklisting if
anyone, since you have insisted on closing bugs which clearly havn't
been fixed.

If I did something wrong, IMHO the right response would've been to point
out my mistake to me, and not to threaten with blacklisting without
giving any reason for it.

it is up to the maintainer to decide if that is closed or not.

If maintainer decides that bug must not be reopened anymore, that
should be mentioned in the bug-report.

Yeah, right. Must source the debconf confmodule right at the start of

Just so I don't make another upload for nothing, does it work OK if
you move the confmodule sourcing right after the set -e ?

ps. I don't know whether this bug should be reopened (which
you oppose), or whether this should be reported in new bug
 (which you seem to want).

you seem to have enough time at your hand, so open a new bug
with the corresponding material.

at a first glance you seem to have missed that e100 for example
is BSD licensed, see http://wiki.debian.org/KernelFirmwareLicensing
that you seem to completly ignore.

so be more careful on your analysis.
enough time already wasted.

fine report a new bug against linux-2.6, we'll deal about it.

It is present in both 2.6.24-6 [*] and 2.6.25-3, under GPL-license and
 containing binary firmware.

ps. I recently sent additional information to bug #383403 (merged with
this bug) which shows that is has *not* been dealt with either.

This clearly isn't additional DFSG violation.

I hope you don't continue closing bugs which has *not* been dealt with

 Debian, which I doubt.)

stop playing with this bugs or i get your email blacklisted for the

infrastructure aka disjointing the upstream linux-2.6 which is done.

file a separate report on each issue that you find and we'll analyse

it be cooler if you'd asked the copyright holder of those firmware
files to license them under BSD. but i guess there your involvment
will not help out anymore.

Yeah, right. Must source the debconf confmodule right at the start of
the postinst.

Just so I don't make another upload for nothing, does it work OK if
you move the confmodule sourcing right after the set -e ?

Hi Immanuel,

I am closing this bug because:

1) It appears that you are running Ubuntu Gutsy, and not Debian, or some sort
of hybrid system. The Debian BTS is used only for the support of Debian
problems.

2) There was insufficient information to determine whether a bug is present
in Debian.

If you believe this is a bug in Debian, please reply back with:

1) An exact description of the problem, including error messages, if any

2) Versions of all dependencies, especially ghc6

3) Whether you have any Ubuntu packages installed

You should be able to at least use the reportbug tool to gather this
information.

The only reason for this to not be of critical severity is that database
services are typically firewalled.

This is CVE-2008-1880[1]

[1] http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2008-1880

The init.d script used by Debian packages exports ISC_PASSWORD into the
environment before starting fbguard. fbguard itself spawns fbserver
process without cleaning environment.

fbserver uses ISC_PASSWORD from the environment when remote connection
does not supply a password. This makes it possible to connect remotely
as SYSDBA user without giving a password.

That last part is already fixed in upstream CVS HEAD, but backporting
the change is reported to be non-trivial.

So the way to close the hole is to stop exporting ISC_PASSWORD in the
init.d script. That variable is used only for stopping the server and
there is another way to achieve this -- via start-stop-daemon and a PID
file.

I am working on the implementation.

firebird fails to build on mips (and presumably will fail on arm)
because fbsvcmgr is an invalid make target. I attached updates of
port-arm.patch and port-mips.patch. For reference I appended also
the interdiff between old and new patches.

Bug#481442: sane-utils: Using xinetd, reportd with set -x in the postinst script

Great :) Had to rewrite the postinst because the change I asked you to
test wasn't enough to get it to work; with only that change
update-inetd was outputting things to stdout while debconf wasn't
stopped, which is always a no-go.

Now that I remember how to not use debconf, let's have some fun with
the new saned :-]

Not at all, good catch. I just didn't know it even has a log file.
How about compiling with -DUSE_SYSLOG?

(CloneMyself() calls InitErrors() currently, and we may want to
have xfs reopen its log file for logrotate, too)?

If it is worth to rotate the log file, which is currently not done.

Bug#481396: lifelines: fails to show person- fatal error programm crashes

2008-05-16 Thread Ulrich Thorwarth
Felipe Augusto van de Wiel (faw) [EMAIL PROTECTED] schrieb am 15.05.2008,
18:59 Uhr:

Hi Felipe,

thanks for your very quick reply!
Meanwhile I made some more tests (see below)

There is a new 3.0.62 version of lifelines that fixes
encoding conversion for GEDCOM, pedigree, and GEDCOM text modes.
Would it be possible that your GEDCOM files falls under this
 problem?

That migt be possible. I used to have lifeline 3.0.50-2 (etch) and
locale was set to ISO-8859-15 and the datebase was also ISO-8859-15.

I have plans to upload the new lifelines in the next
days, it should happened months ago, but unfortunately real
 life got me.

oh I understand :-)... anyway if the new version is ok, we should not
waste time with this one...

The (german) output of the log-file says:
  | Verhängnisvoller Fehler: 2008-05-15-19:00:45Z
  |in Datei keytonod.c, Zeile 1210
  |Aktuelle Datenbank: /home/ulrich/LifeLines/Databases/test

means 'fatal error in file keytonod.c, line 1210
current database: /home/ulrich/LifeLines/Databases/test

  * Does it works with other GEDCOMfiles?

  * Can you tell me the steps to reproduce this error? It would
be great if you can list it like:

1) Open lifelines using $ llines
2) Create a database
   Path: /tmp/foo-database-gedcom

  * Can you provide the GEDCOM file that you used?

what I did (and it can be reproduced by 100%):

1) simply copy the database from lifelines 3.0.50-2
produced the crash (at this point I was not so surprised as I knew
the difference in encoding)

2) made an .ged export from my 3.0.50.-2 database, converted the .ged
file to UTF-8, opened a new blank database (UTF-8) and read the .ged
file. Unfortunately the result was exactly the same: I could open the
database by 'llines test', hit 'b', choosed '1! -- crash.

3) created a brand new database,
   - enter first person -ok
   - enter second person -ok
   - try to make second person spouse of first person - 'failure in
 memory access' (program stops)
The .ged export of this database is:

   0 HEAD

   1 NAME second /person/
   1 SEX F
   1 BIRT
   2 DATE 02 Jan 1970
   2 PLAC Munich
   0 TRLR

4) as it was obviously not possible to marry the two persons ;-) in
lifelines, I did it manually by editing the .ged file as follows:

   0 HEAD
   1 SOUR LIFELINES 3.0.61
   1 DEST ANY
   1 DATE 16 MAY 2008
   2 TIME 21:21

   2 DATE 02 Jan 1970
   2 PLAC Munich
   1 FAMS @F1@
   0 TRLR

means I just added the @F1@ FAM lines and the FAMS marker.
So finally I created my third database 'test2' and by 'u' -- 'r' I read
this gedcom file. Reading is ok but moving to one person by 'b' -- '1'
crashes the programm as described.

That was a lot of text, but at the end, the problem is 3) it is not
possible to marry the persons and 4) it not possible to show one person.

BTW: I also tried all this with a ISO-8859-1 encoded database (by
hitting 'u' -- 'o' and typing codeset=ISO-8859-1 (without the
quotation marks :-)), but it was all the same.

Hope that helps a little bit.

Bug#481145: roundcube-core: needs versioned dependency on tinymce

 Package: roundcube-core

 Severity: grave
 Justification: renders package unusable

If tinymce is installed in the latest version (3.0.8-1), then roundcube is
 not usable when sending
mails; the editor functions do not work. With the old version (2.1.1.1-1)
this is not the case. What
causes the bug was not discovered yet, maybe the following log entry is
 helpful:

[Tue May 13 17:27:13 2008] [error] [client 164.3.25.10] File does not exist:

Hi Michael!

Thanks for spotting this problem. Depending on tinymce 3 would mean
that new version will never hit testing. I try a simple modification to
make roundcube compatible with tinymce 3 but it transforms any text area
into a tinymce applet (including To: field for example). I need to look
further at this problem.

 How about compiling with -DUSE_SYSLOG?

I must admit, I would prefer xfs logging to syslog. When debugging
the segfault in #148650, the first place I looked was /var/log/syslog.
When Nothing showed up there, I started searching for the logs and
discovered /var/log/xfs.log. So I would be less surprised if it used
syslog. :)

Happy hacking,

Hi,

according to Colin Tuckley’s last mail, this bug #463290 was closed with
his last NMU, although he seemed to have forgotten to mention it in the
changelog. Closing it.

It seems it also fixed the two FTBFS-bugs #461422 and #435536, closing
them as well.

Thanks Colin,
Joachim

Bug#473085: old version of guile-1.8-dev used in 1.9.11-1 failure

2008-05-16 Thread Neil Williams
Bastian, would it be possible to retest g-wrap 1.9.11-1 using the
current version of guile-1.8-dev (1.8.5+1-1) on s390?

#466778 (which was claimed as the source of the original FTBFS) was
fixed in that version but your build failure that requested the
reopening of this bug shows:
Setting up guile-1.8-dev (1.8.4+1-2) ...

If the s390 build works with guile-1.8-dev (1.8.5+1-1), maybe a few
rebuilds can be attempted for g-wrap with the latest version of
guile-1.8-dev (but the Build-Depends of g-wrap should still be updated
to require the fixed version of guile-1.8-dev anyway so this bug can
then be retitled and lowered in severity). Alternatively, g-wrap
with guile-1.8-dev (1.8.5+1-1) may simply repeat #475673 on s390.

(I neither need nor use g-wrap anymore, but as Andreas has not
responded, I'm just seeing if the RC bug count can be tweaked by either
lowering the severity of this bug or merging it with #475673 if the
updated guile-1.8-dev gives the same test failure as on sparc.)

Btw, as for this BTS ping-pong game, Max asked that you file separate bugs
instead of reopening this one. This doesn't sound like an unreasonable
request, so why not just do that?

It's probably helpful to the maintainers to have a separate bug for each
violation. I can imagine that working with one [1] huge report while trying
to actually fix stuff can be a PITA.

[1] well, actually a few merged reports, but it amounts to the same.

Bug#476504: nvidia-kernel-source: Beta version of driver solves kernel 2.6.25 issues

2008-05-16 Thread Micha Feigin
Package: nvidia-kernel-source
Version: 169.12-1
Followup-For: Bug #476504

the kernel driver doesn't compile with kernel 2.6.25 (which is the
current debian default kernel I believe).

This requires either patching the driver or updating to the new beta
version 173.08. Could be a good solution, at least for experimental.

Bug#480659: ipe: displaying and saving files is broken

2008-05-16 Thread Christian Fischer
Thanks,

this solves the problem.

I think this is still a bug and it was introduced with 6.0pre30-2.

(I can't remember changing my locale settings lately, so it worked with
the german locale with 6.0pre30-1.)

Bug#481561: linux-latest-2.6: Must be updated to depend on Linux 2.6.25

2008-05-16 Thread Ben Hutchings
Package: linux-latest-2.6
Version: 13
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 2.2.1

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

The linux-image-2.6-* packages still depend on linux-image-2.6.24-*,
which are no longer in unstable. Obviously this needs to be updated.

(Is there any reason why this can't be combined with linux-2.6 so
they stay in sync?)

Ben.
