Bug#647695: spyder: segfaults right after start
libqtwebkit4 (2.1.0~2011week09-3 - 2.1.0~2011week13-2) ok so the problem is here that way I should prevent spyder to be installed with the wrong libqtwebkit4 how? to me python-qt4 must be fixed with the right libqtwebkit4 version like other libqtxxx libraries well, it's indeed a bug in spyder that it doesn't declare the correct relationship with other pkgs (it doesn't even say it needs libwebkit...) Yes to use spyder you just need python-qt4 which itself depends of libqtwebkit. to build src:spyder from sources you do not ever need to install python-qt4, this is just python bytecode. I would put libqtwebqit4 (=2.1.0~2011week13-1) If I look into the python-qt4 control file, the dependencies are generated only with shlibs:Depends. and the Build-Depends: debhelper (= 7), libdbus-1-dev (= 1.0.2), libphonon-dev (= 4:4.2.0-2), libqt4-dev (= 4:4.7.0), libqt4-opengl-dev, libqtassistantclient-dev, libqtwebkit-dev, is on un unversionned libqtwebkit-dev. libqtwebkit do not provide the right shlib dependency ? what is you opinion, and the right way to solve this issue ? However while testing to confirm that it was a false positive I discovered that tuxpuck was unbuildable in current sid for another reason. tuxpuck build-depends on both libjpeg62-dev and libsdl1.2-dev. Since libsdl1.2-dev now depends on libjpeg8-dev this renders the build dependencies uninstallable. The fix is to change the libjpeg62-dev build-dependency to libjpeg8-dev. Yup, that's (also) #634637. Bug#647749: Patch
TWC automatically disabled all existing xmloap licenses on 10/31. However, they didn't disable the xmloap service itself yet (nor the ability to get a new license id). The patch will work until TWC's xmloap service is ended, which could be tomorrow or many moons from now (your guess is as good as mine). I applied the patch as shown and my weather plugin is working again. It will work until TWC ends xmloap or manually disables my license id (though I can't see why they would do that since the plugin does follow all of the licensing agreements (non-profit, shows logo and promotional links, etc.). They intend to shut the service down and pass to a paid service. If we manage to fix the plugin just to have it disabled again in the next future, it might not be worth it. It might be worth changing provider though. In any case, thanks for the patch, it might be at least a band-aid solution for stable where changing provider isn't exactly possible anyway. Bug#565094: FTBFS with libcurl4-gnutls-dev 7.21.7-1 on alpha
tags 636559 +patch thanks Note that despite the bug title this issue is not alpha specific, it impacts all architures. I've attatched a patch that gets the package building again. Within the patch are three fixes 1: improve debian/rules clean. It's not perfect but at least it avoids unrepresendable changes to source. This isn't strictly needed to fix the FTBFS but working on packages without a usable clean target is a PITA 2: remove includes of the obsolete curl/types.h from multiple places in the source 3: fix several gcc 4.6 related failures Given the lack of maintainer activity I have cc'd luk in case he is interested in making another NMU (he uploaded the current version) diff -urN nepenthes-0.2.2/debian/clean nepenthes-0.2.2.new/debian/clean --- nepenthes-0.2.2/debian/clean 1970-01-01 00:00:00.0 + +++ nepenthes-0.2.2.new/debian/clean 2011-11-07 02:47:32.0 + @@ -0,0 +1,14 @@ +#!/bin/bash +rm -f nepenthes-core/src/*.o +rm -f nepenthes-core/src/nepenthes +for f in modules/* +do + echo cleaning up $f + rm -f $f/*.o + rm -f $f/*.lo + rm -f $f/*.la + rm -f $f/Makefile + rm -rf $f/.libs +done + +rm -rf nepenthes-core/src/.deps diff -urN nepenthes-0.2.2/debian/patches/00list nepenthes-0.2.2.new/debian/patches/00list --- nepenthes-0.2.2/debian/patches/00list 2011-11-07 01:32:51.0 + +++ nepenthes-0.2.2.new/debian/patches/00list 2011-11-07 02:32:52.0 + @@ -5,3 +5,5 @@ 05_includes_for_gcc_4.4.dpatch 06_includes_for_eglibc_2.10.dpatch 08_ftbfs_gcc45.dpatch +09_remove_curl_types_h.dpatch +10_fix_gcc4.6.dpatch diff -urN nepenthes-0.2.2/debian/patches/09_remove_curl_types_h.dpatch nepenthes-0.2.2.new/debian/patches/09_remove_curl_types_h.dpatch --- nepenthes-0.2.2/debian/patches/09_remove_curl_types_h.dpatch 1970-01-01 00:00:00.0 + +++ nepenthes-0.2.2.new/debian/patches/09_remove_curl_types_h.dpatch 2011-11-07 03:02:42.0 + @@ -0,0 +1,84 @@ +#! /bin/sh /usr/share/dpatch/dpatch-run +## 09_remove_curl_types_h.dpatch by plugw...@p10link.net +## +## All lines beginning with `## DP:' are a description of the patch. +## DP: Remove curl/types.h which is no longer present in current curl packages + +@DPATCH@ +diff -urNad '--exclude=CVS' '--exclude=.svn' '--exclude=.git' '--exclude=.arch' '--exclude=.hg' '--exclude=_darcs' '--exclude=.bzr' nepenthes-0.2.2.new~/modules/download-curl/download-curl.hpp nepenthes-0.2.2.new/modules/download-curl/download-curl.hpp +--- nepenthes-0.2.2.new~/modules/download-curl/download-curl.hpp 2011-11-07 02:21:01.0 + nepenthes-0.2.2.new/modules/download-curl/download-curl.hpp 2011-11-07 02:21:09.0 + +@@ -28,7 +28,6 @@ + /* $Id: download-curl.hpp 1927 2005-08-27 21:56:59Z dp $ */ + + #include curl/curl.h +-#include curl/types.h /* new for v7 */ + #include curl/easy.h /* new for v7 */ + + #include Module.hpp +diff -urNad '--exclude=CVS' '--exclude=.svn' '--exclude=.git' '--exclude=.arch' '--exclude=.hg' '--exclude=_darcs' '--exclude=.bzr' nepenthes-0.2.2.new~/modules/submit-http/HTTPSession.cpp nepenthes-0.2.2.new/modules/submit-http/HTTPSession.cpp +--- nepenthes-0.2.2.new~/modules/submit-http/HTTPSession.cpp 2011-11-07 02:21:09.0 + nepenthes-0.2.2.new/modules/submit-http/HTTPSession.cpp 2011-11-07 02:22:53.0 + +@@ -28,7 +28,6 @@ + + + #include curl/curl.h +-#include curl/types.h /* new for v7 */ + #include curl/easy.h /* new for v7 */ + #include sstream + #include cstring +diff -urNad '--exclude=CVS' '--exclude=.svn' '--exclude=.git' '--exclude=.arch' '--exclude=.hg' '--exclude=_darcs' '--exclude=.bzr' nepenthes-0.2.2.new~/modules/submit-http/HTTPSession.hpp nepenthes-0.2.2.new/modules/submit-http/HTTPSession.hpp +--- nepenthes-0.2.2.new~/modules/submit-http/HTTPSession.hpp 2007-02-06 16:54:33.0 + nepenthes-0.2.2.new/modules/submit-http/HTTPSession.hpp 2011-11-07 02:21:31.0 + +@@ -29,7 +29,6 @@ + /* $Id: HTTPSession.hpp 839 2007-02-06 16:54:31Z common $ */ + + #include curl/curl.h +-#include curl/types.h + + #include Download.hpp + +diff -urNad '--exclude=CVS' '--exclude=.svn' '--exclude=.git' '--exclude=.arch' '--exclude=.hg' '--exclude=_darcs' '--exclude=.bzr' nepenthes-0.2.2.new~/modules/submit-http/submit-http.hpp nepenthes-0.2.2.new/modules/submit-http/submit-http.hpp +--- nepenthes-0.2.2.new~/modules/submit-http/submit-http.hpp 2011-11-07 02:21:01.0 + nepenthes-0.2.2.new/modules/submit-http/submit-http.hpp 2011-11-07 02:21:09.0 + +@@ -29,7 +29,6 @@ + /* $Id: submit-http.hpp 839 2007-02-06 16:54:31Z common $ */ + + #include curl/curl.h +-#include curl/types.h /* new for v7 */ + #include curl/easy.h /* new for v7 */ + + #include Nepenthes.hpp +diff -urNad '--exclude=CVS' '--exclude=.svn' '--exclude=.git' '--exclude=.arch' '--exclude=.hg' '--exclude=_darcs' '--exclude=.bzr' nepenthes-0.2.2.new~/modules/submit-mwserv/TransferSession.hpp
Bug#614907: Is anyone maintaining (the ham radio tool) node?
Patrick Ouellette wrote: You claim to not use either package, but yet you advocate for the node.js package to keep the executable name node - this is strange to me. Sorry, I must have been unclear. I was only explaining my preference. I wasn't lying. I also said: However, if the only way to include both node and nodejs in wheezy is for the interpreter binary to be renamed, too, that's ok with me. Indeed, renaming both is what policy (and good sense) requires in the absence of consensus. I guess it was foolish of me to imagine that there could be a discussion resulting in consensus based on something other than which tool is most important! (Both tools are obviously important in their communities.) [...] Are you a ham radio operator, or do you have another reason to be interested in the eventual name of the ham radio package? [...] When the ham radio maintainers decide on how to implement the fix, they will. No, I am not a ham radio operator. I was worried because this (release-critical) bug had received no response for three quarters of a year. I'm glad to hear you say when rather than if here --- as far as I can tell, you are saying that I should not be worried and this bug is not stalled after all. I am interested in Debian remaining useful for a variety of purposes, which is why I want to see some proposed fix enter unstable early enough to shake out problems so wheezy can both include fundamental tools for ham radio operators and for web developers. Sorry for the lack of clarity. Jonathan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org

Bug#614907: Is anyone maintaining (the ham radio tool) node?
(+cc: nod...@packages.debian.org. Sorry for the noise.) Jonathan Nieder wrote: Patrick Ouellette wrote: You claim to not use either package, but yet you advocate for the node.js package to keep the executable name node - this is strange to me. Sorry, I must have been unclear. A few more words of clarification: It might seems strange that someone using neither package cares about these bugs. So here is why I care: 1. I use Debian. I do not want it to be broken (one aspect of broken is the same command having different effects depending on which package is installed). My experience is that for better or worse, if the project can't fix a bug like this one, new maintainers of other packages in similar situations will take it as an example and introduce even more breakage. 2. Ham radio projects seem neat to me. Lots of nice people, including John Goerzen, are ham radio operators. It would be nice to make sure Debian continues to make their lives pleasant and makes my life pleasant if I ever acquire the appropriate hardware. 3. node.js seems neat to me. Lots of nice people including Jonas Smedegaard use it to program. I imagine that at some point in the future, even if I never start to use the language myself, I might find myself running programs using it (like has happened to me with ruby already). I hope you care some small amount about packages you don't currently use, too. :) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#647840: r-cran-wavelets: Doesn't work with R 2.14.0
Andrey Paramonov cmr.apara...@gmail.com writes: Package: r-cran-wavelets Version: 0.2-6-1cran1 Hrm, I can't find any r-cran-wavelets package in Debian. It's not in incoming, either, and as far as I see, it wasn't removed, either. That suggest it didn't exist. Or that I'm missing something obvious. Are you sure your package is from Debian, and not some other source? (the version number suggests it's not from Debian proper) -- |8] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
