Bug#656755: [Debian-med-packaging] Bug#656755: Help with architecture not supporting SSE (Was: Bug#656755: libhmsbeagle FTBFS on everything except amd64)
Le 1/22/12 2:31 PM, Andreas Tille a écrit : Hi, I have to admit that I do not have any experience with SSE issues. Any advise what to do in cases like this (see build logs linked below)? SSE is not supported on all architecture. Hurd is one among others. If code makes use of SSE with no fallback option, then it is not supported on this architecture. configure etc... can detect if SSE is supported on current arch, and sets SSE_ENABLED or something like that in config.h,but of course, code must manage this and fallback to non-sse code in this case, if any. Therefore disabling -msse2 has caused the package to FTBFS everywhere except amd64. For non pc architectures I would think the sse2 plugin should simply be disabled. Do you have any hint how I could find this plugin which should be disabled. [...] A failed build log would probably be helpful. I also have included upstream whether they might be able to give any hint about this issue: Predictably, https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=libhmsbeagle has several - the hurd-i386, powerpc and s390x logs all look like they fail whilst building libhmsbeagle_cpu_sse_la-BeagleCPUSSEPlugin.lo. Well, yesterday out of nothing my webmailer roundcube started to refuse to work. At least as I remember it. For some reasons reloading the Inbox just showed the Loading... message on the screen, but there was no list of mails anymore. Funny enough other folders do actually work as before. But anyway, doing an update did not help and improve anything. (I really don't know whether I updated before or after because of the first occurence of this issue.) There's an entry in syslog when loading the Inbox folder: Oct 26 07:24:59 muaddib suhosin[32432]: ALERT - Include filename ('http://www.gnu.org/s/hello/manual/automake/ ?.php') is an URL that is not allowed (attacker '127.0.0.1', file '/usr/share/roundcube/program/include/iniset.php', line 110 This lead to bug #1488086 in the Roundcube issue tracker which states: This messages made me wonder why suhosin thinks there's an include going on. Line 111 of iniset.php shows: include_once($filename.php); It seems like roundcube wants to include what is displayed in the subject, which happens to be a url - and suhosin legitimately blocks this attempt. In short, I can send an email to a user on a suhosin protected mail server and make his inbox unavailable. Needless to say, the user cannot delete this email himself via RoundCube. In my case, I had to delete the email file on the server to make roundcube show the inbox again. In Debian there's bug #619411 that is related to PATH setting in iniset.php, but I'm not sure if this is really related to #1488086 in the Roundcube issue tracker and my problem? However, disabling suhosin doesn't seem the right way to solve this issue and the trac issue tracker suggests a security related problem. Bug#656962: [Pkg-puppet-devel] Bug#656962: puppet: fails to upgrade from squeeze - trying to overwrite ...
Holger Levsen hol...@layer-acht.org writes: during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from squeeze. It installed fine in squeeze, then the upgrade to wheezy fails because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a replaces relation. There is such a breaks/replaces relation, but it lists the version where this new package was introduced in experimental (as far as I remember), rather than the versions which went through unstable-testing-stable. The package puppetmaster-common lists: Breaks: puppetmaster ( 2.6.1~rc2-1) Replaces: puppetmaster ( 2.6.1~rc2-1) The packages exists in the following versions: puppetmaster-common (debian) | puppetmaster-common | 2.7.6-1~bpo60+1 | backports/squeeze | all | | puppetmaster-common | 2.7.9-1 | wheezy| all | | puppetmaster-common | 2.7.9-1 | sid | all | puppetmaster (debian) | puppetmaster | 0.24.5-3 | lenny | all | | puppetmaster | 0.24.5-3+lenny2 | lenny-p-u | all | | puppetmaster | 0.24.5-3+lenny2 | lenny-security| all | | puppetmaster | 2.6.2-4~bpo50+1 | backports/lenny | all | | puppetmaster | 2.6.2-5+squeeze1 | squeeze | all | | puppetmaster | 2.6.2-5+squeeze3 | squeeze-security | all | | puppetmaster | 2.7.6-1~bpo60+1 | backports/squeeze | all | | puppetmaster | 2.7.9-1 | wheezy| all | | puppetmaster | 2.7.9-1 | sid | all | This should then be solved by updating these fields to Breaks: puppetmaster ( 2.7.6-1~) Replaces: puppetmaster (2.7.6-1~) I've committed this fix to the packaging repository, and it should make the next release. Bug#655789: wv - NMU to fix FTBFS new upstream release
Hi Dan, If you check http://www.abisource.com/projects/ you can read the following quote: wvWare: The latest releases can be found here at AbiSource. Old project pages for historical reference can still be found at SourceForce. wv is an essential component of abiword, developed by the same upstream. They are active and releasing to http://abisource.com/downloads/wv/ In NMU I updated debian/control and debian/watch files with relevant upstream information. I'm not sure what exactly you call wvWare - I think it's a same thing. Regards, Dmitry. On Tue, 24 Jan 2012 03:20:29 Daniel Walrond wrote: Hello, Where did you get a new upstream version from? I have not seen any upstream updates since 1.2.4, which has been classed as deprecated since 2006 iirc. Really this package should be replaced by wvWare and possible a package released to migrate people to that. Dan OK, let me act as a reminder now, we need to start the transition ASAP if we want to have it in Wheezy because it is expected to freeze in June 2012 (though the time hasn't been fixed, we are targeting at the time). It's harder to make a transition when testing is frozen, even though libwv is only a small one. -- Regards, Aron Xu -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#655789: wv - NMU to fix FTBFS new upstream release
Hello, Where did you get a new upstream version from? I have not seen any upstream updates since 1.2.4, which has been classed as deprecated since 2006 iirc. Really this package should be replaced by wvWare and possible a package released to migrate people to that. I don't see a future in this package since it has no active upstream developer, unless you can show me otherwise. Bug#656904: Gnash breaks flash-enabled websites (such as Google Finance)
Hi there, [...] http://www.google.com/finance?q=EURUSD [...] This package must be either: 1. fixed, or 2. gnash should be avoided on all new desktop installations, or 3. activate gnash only on supported websites, such as YouTube [...] Google Finance doesn't work on Gnash because it uses AVM2, and Gnash doesn't support it. According to Gnash's FAQ[1], AVM2 isn't supported, but it is recommended that people use Lightspark (that supports AVM2 and falls back to Gnash for AVM1 code). Since Lightspark is already on Debian testing, maybe Gnash should recommend Lightspark? The problem seems to be in this piece of code of the postinst script: case $UPDATE_OPTS in y) echo Updating named.conf.options to include DNSSEC enablement cp /usr/share/bind9/named.conf.options /etc/bind/named.conf.options $UPDATE_OPTS is equal to 'n' on a new installation so the file is not copied, but it is referenced in /etc/bind/named.conf: include /etc/bind/named.conf.local; And that's the reason why it fails to start. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages bind9 depends on: ii adduser3.113 ii bind9utils 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-1 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.41 ii libbind9-801:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-1 ii libc6 2.13-24 ii libcap21:2.22-1 ii libdns81 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-1 ii libgssapi-krb5-2 1.10+dfsg~beta1-2 ii libisc83 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-1 ii libisccc80 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-1 ii libisccfg821:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-1 ii liblwres80 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-1 ii libssl1.0.01.0.0g-1 ii libxml22.7.8.dfsg-6 ii lsb-base 3.2-28 ii net-tools 1.60-24.1 ii netbase4.47 bind9 recommends no packages. An update from me is that next step is to determine whether ABI of libwv really has a bump. Because I just read that in the past wv's upstream did bump SONAME without real ABI change. Bug#656818: [pkg-cli-apps-team] Bug#656818: gnome-subtitles: Mono 2.10 transition, rebuild required
Hi, On Sat, Jan 21, 2012 at 10:49:16PM +, Jo Shields wrote: Package: src:gnome-subtitles Version: 1.2-1 Severity: serious User: debian-...@lists.debian.org Usertags: mono-2.10-transition Hi, A Mono transition is underway. Every source package needs to be rebuilt to compile against CLR 4.0 instead of CLR 2.0. Please upload antlr for this change. You can check it worked if, after rebuilding, gnome-subtitles has a dependency on libmono-corlib4.0-cil instead of …corlib2.0-cil. http://wiki.debian.org/Teams/DebianMonoGroup/Mono210Transition http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=648775 Additionally, your package contains a manual dependency on libmono-i18n2.0-cil which must be updated to …4.0-cil. These changes (plus a few other packaging fixes) have been made in pkg-cli-apps git, however you appear not to have kept the git tree updated and there is no evidence of the 1.2-1 upload in the git repository, preventing valid team-maintained uploads. Please either make the corrections yourself for 1.2-2, or push your changes to git where other team members can submit their work. I just did this upload in an 'unstable' branch in git. Please push your work to master and merge from this branch as appropriate. Bug#656688: Test version with bug fixes
I have prepared a test version with fixes. You can uninstall the Debian package and install from source until a fixed deb is available. http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/usb-modeswitch-1.2.2-1.tar.bz2 As a prerequisite for installation you need the libjim-dev package. In the source folder, run make install. For any new deb package, run make uninstall in the source folder before installing it. There will be no side effects. Note that this is a special source package tailored for Debian. I'm looking forward to hearing any reports. Bug#657084: gnome-applets: None of the applets work in Gnome 3.
Package: gnome-applets Version: 3.2.1-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Dear Maintainer, *** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? *** End of the template - remove these lines *** I just upgraded this system from gnome2 to gnome3 today after testing gnome3 in fallback mode one one machine and fresh install on another. There are a few applets I use consistently, CPU freq-util, gweather and a couple of others, and these don't work in gnome 3. The first thing I noticed is they can't be found from the search bar or the application menu. Second is although they may be started from the command line, they don't display anything, or they may be invisible due to the black root window of the X server (undocumented swith '-br' sets the 'blackout' look.) When running in fallback mode, it's possible to see a _very_ faint icon showing the temperature on the top panel, but that's more a broken gnome 2/gnome fallback issue. If the designer wishes for a security package like this to be effective, it needs to be useful in it's default configuration so that minimal manual intervention is required to do the job. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.1.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages rkhunter depends on: ii binutils 2.21.90.20111025-1 GNU assembler, linker and binary u ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.41 Debian configuration management sy ii file 5.09-2 Determines file type using magic ii net-tools 1.60-24.1 The NET-3 networking toolkit ii perl 5.14.2-5 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii ucf 3.0025+nmu2Update Configuration File: preserv Versions of packages rkhunter recommends: ii courier-mta [mail-transpo 0.66.3-1+b1Courier mail server - ESMTP daemon ii curl 7.21.7-3 Get a file from an HTTP, HTTPS or ii elinks0.12~pre5-5+b1 advanced text-mode WWW browser ii iproute 20110629-1 networking and traffic control too ii links 2.3-1 Web browser running in text mode ii lsof 4.81.dfsg.1-1 List open files ii lynx 2.8.8dev.9-2 Text-mode WWW Browser (transitiona ii unhide20110113-3 Forensic tool to find hidden proce ii wget 1.13.4-1 retrieves files from the web Versions of packages rkhunter suggests: ii heirloom-mailx [mailx]12.5-1 feature-rich BSD mail(1) pn libdigest-whirlpool-perl none (no description available) ii liburi-perl 1.59-1 module to manipulate and access UR ii libwww-perl 6.03-1 simple and consistent interface to pn powermgmt-basenone (no description available) pn tripwire none (no description available) -- Configuration Files: /etc/rkhunter.conf changed: ROTATE_MIRRORS=1 UPDATE_MIRRORS=1 MIRRORS_MODE=0 MAIL-ON-WARNING= MAIL_CMD=mail -s [rkhunter] Warnings found for ${HOST_NAME} TMPDIR=/var/lib/rkhunter/tmp DBDIR=/var/lib/rkhunter/db SCRIPTDIR=/usr/share/rkhunter/scripts BINDIR=/bin /usr/bin /sbin /usr/sbin /usr/local/bin /usr/local/sbin /usr/libexec /usr/local/libexec UPDATE_LANG= LOGFILE=/var/log/rkhunter.log APPEND_LOG=0 COPY_LOG_ON_ERROR=0 COLOR_SET2=0 AUTO_X_DETECT=1 WHITELISTED_IS_WHITE=0 ALLOW_SSH_ROOT_USER=no ALLOW_SSH_PROT_V1=0 ENABLE_TESTS=all DISABLE_TESTS=suspscan hidden_procs deleted_files packet_cap_apps apps SCRIPTWHITELIST=/bin/egrep SCRIPTWHITELIST=/bin/fgrep SCRIPTWHITELIST=/bin/which SCRIPTWHITELIST=/usr/bin/groups SCRIPTWHITELIST=/usr/bin/ldd SCRIPTWHITELIST=/usr/bin/lwp-request SCRIPTWHITELIST=/usr/sbin/adduser SCRIPTWHITELIST=/usr/sbin/prelink IMMUTABLE_SET=0 PHALANX2_DIRTEST=0 ALLOW_SYSLOG_REMOTE_LOGGING=0 SUSPSCAN_TEMP=/dev/shm SUSPSCAN_MAXSIZE=1024 SUSPSCAN_THRESH=200 USE_LOCKING=0 LOCK_TIMEOUT=300 SHOW_LOCK_MSGS=1 DISABLE_UNHIDE=1 INSTALLDIR=/usr -- debconf information: rkhunter/apt_autogen: rkhunter/cron_daily_run: no rkhunter/cron_db_update: yes -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#656564: libglib2.0-0: since upgrade to 2.30.2-5 programs start segfaulting at random
reassign 656564 gnome-settings-daemon severity serious reassign 656762 gnome-session severity serious thanks Dear all, it seems there is a very bad interaction between gnome-session, gnome-settings-daemon, and maybe glibc2.0. First, gnome-settings-daemon is terminating on a regular basis: gnome-settings-[3520]: segfault at 7f453c075140 ip 7f464659278e sp 7fffeb5f1120 error 4 in libglib-2.0.so.0.3000.2[7f464650b000+f6000] Although I have recompiled glib2.0 without the last patches that might have triggered this, it still does happen on a regular basis. Triggered by this, gnome-session shows the Oh something went wrong screen making it impossible to save work, although the session is absolutely fine working, just the settings are not applied. I see all the work I was doing in the overview of gnome-shell, but I cannot save it. These two things together create a situation that is a guarantee for data loss. Please work together to find a fix for this, I am open for testing, patches, whatsoever.
