The reason for that is a migration to the newer version of bison,
from 2.5 to 3.0.2.
Attached patch contains changes to bison input files (src/core/conffile.y and
src/core/confline.y),
in order to adapt to newer bison version.

I can reproduce it. The greeter just froze after I've entered my username and
password. I've switched to the console using Ctrl-Alt-F1, killed -9 the greeter,
and it logged into DE session just fine.
I've checked that libpam-systemd is installed.
