Package: kernel-package
Version: 13.011
Severity: serious

On i386, make-kpkg linux-image creates packages without an
Architecture: field which dpkg will then fail to process (unless
--force-architecture is specified). This is due to a broken logic in
/usr/share/kernel-package/ruleset/targets/image.mk:

BUILD_SUBARCH := $(shell $(DPKG_ARCH) -a$(KPKG_SUBARCH) -qDEB_HOST_ARCH)

Here KPKG_SUBARCH refers to a kernel subarch which will often be 686 on
typical i386 Debian systems, and 686 is not a valid Debian
architecture, so BUILD_SUBARCH ends up empty. Later this value is
passed on to dpkg-gencontrol:

dpkg-gencontrol -DArchitecture=$(BUILD_SUBARCH) -isp

Attached is the output of LC_ALL=C linux32 make-kpkg linux-image after
linux32 make allnoconfig where you can see dpkg-architecture
complaining.

Can you please git add
debian/patches/wx-config-conditionalise-webview-in-std.patch and commit?

I think you forgot to add the patch (I saw it in incoming) :)

The patch is really nice for the debian problem, however I was thinking as you
said in the other bug about a more general problem, maybe upstream will give us
an answer if we can make the package behave more like the media package

Let me know if I can do something!

thanks,

 Dear Maintainer,

as far as I can tell, CVE-2014-0240 affects the stable package of
 mod-wsgi. The
patch provided by the mod-wsgi team applies wih fuzzing to the source
 shipped
by debian. If a kernel = 2.6.0 and 3.1.0 is installed, this issue
 might
 allow local privilege escalation

I'll upload fixed packages for squeeze and wheezy later today.

 Cheers,

This is probably due to this change:

Adding libssl-dev to the build-dependencies makes the configure step
pass, but here's what I get during compilation:

^
Makefile:1318: recipe for target 'localcharset.lo' failed
make[5]: *** [localcharset.lo] Error 1

The commit for the above change removes a bunch of dependencies, but
I get this error even if I add all of them (excluding libssh2-1-dev,
which seems to bring a conflict around libgcrypt-dev virtual package).

This seems to be a problem with gnulib/stdio.in.h. Removing lines
140-145 fixes the error.

2014-05-26 Thread Ian Campbell
Package: src:sqlite
Followup-For: Bug #746058

As well as the tclsh issue the log also shows:
sort: cannot read: +4: No such file or directory

Which seems to be down to the use of an obsolete command line syntax. Seemingly
the supported syntax is sort -k 4.

Oops, will do that tomorrow when I turn the machine it's on back on.

Let me know if I can do something!

I don't think there's really anything more to do about this issue in
Debian for now - it's really up to upstream if they want to address
this, and if they do, we'd probably just wait for that change to appear
in a release, and then drop our patch.

Getting a newer boinc packaged would be great though, as that would be
another package off the list of those which still depend on
wxwidgets2.8.

Other than that, I'd certainly not complain at some help working through
the remaining packages. I'm attempting to keep a list with notes at
https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/WxWidgets/Transition2.8to3.0 and there's
also a transition tracker (linked to from the wiki page) which is
likely more accurate, but lacks the notes about the status of attempted
builds, etc.

Cheers,
Olly

Bug#749318: kernel-img depends on kernel-common

2014-05-26 Thread Michal Hocko
Package: kernel-package
Version: 13.011
Severity: serious

Hi,
kernel-img built with the current kernel-package fails to install on an
older system (wheezy) due to dependency on kernel-common package which
is not available there.

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of
linux-image-3.14.0-test2-9-g0caed0719426:
 linux-image-3.14.0-test2-9-g0caed0719426 depends on kernel-common; however:
  Package kernel-common is not installed.

The package changelog claims that:

manpages. Create a default kernel-img.conf similar to the one
generated by the base installer, and register with ucf. Updated the
man pages and the examples. Made the generated kernel image packages
recommend the kernel-common package. (Closes: #626216).

AFAIU kernel-common should be recommended by kernel-img package but the
above error message suggests that the dependency is hard
Should this be changed to:

Justification: breaks unrelated software

*** Please type your report below this line ***

As part of my standard virtual machine template for MySQL, I created an LVM
setup as follows:
pvcreate /dev/sdb
vgcreate vg0 /dev/sdb
lvcreate -n mysql -L 10G vg0
lvcreate -n mysqlbinlog -L 5G vg0
lvcreate -n mysqllog -L 5G vg0

Then, after I deploy the template, I resize the LVs and xfs_growfs them,
apt-get upgrade, and restart.

I also frequently (multiple times per week) extend MySQL data volumes on
the fly using
echo 1 /sys/block/sdb/device/rescane
pvresize /dev/sdb
lvresize -l +100%FREE /dev/vg0/mysql
xfs_growfs /mysql

This has worked hundreds of times. Twice, though, on Debian 6.x (I don't
have enough 7.x boxes in production yet) I've had something happen with
XFS. Once, after an extend, it was unmountable. I assumed this was an
error on my part, created the FS, and moved on.

Today, I got an SQL error on a MySQL replication box:

Error 'The table 'X' is full' on query. Default database: XYY

Normally this would be a configuration issue in MySQL related to a setting
called innodb_data_file_path. Mine is configured correctly; otherwise
all of my templates would have died years ago. On this particular host, I
extended /mysql (the data volume) to 120G before reboot. Today, when it
hit what appears to be the *original* size:

/dev/mapper/vg0-mysql
125814784 10473148 115341636 9% /mysql

XFS threw allocation errors.

  directories in /tmp, causing DoS (Fri, 23 May 2014 19:10:31 +0200):

 Package: python-suds
 Version: 0.3.9-1+deb6u1
 Severity: serious
 Justification: breaks unrelated software

The deb6u1 update to python-suds fixed insecure temporary directory
creation (/tmp/suds) by creating directories with random names in /tmp.

However, these directories are never deleted, causing /tmp to reach
subdirectory limit (~32000 on ext3), breaking various other programs that want
to create a temporary directory in /tmp (they get Too many links error).

Fix for unstable uploaded with suds_0.4.1-14_amd64.changes.

Thanks for letting me know. Besides the bug severity I'm interested in
having that package l18n-safe so please keep me informed.

'check-support-status' invoked by postinst script exists with an error -
 'comm'
states that second file is not sorted.

For a test: Prefix the comm invocation with LANG=C like this is done
a few lines above with $DPKG_QUERY. This should fix it, let me know
in either way.

 Hi,
could you specify what you mean by hard-coded dependencies ?

Those are specified in control file. Do you mean they should be set in
 shlibs.local file ?

No. I mean you should read the section about shared libraries in
policy.

Probably, but for the time being I'm lowering the severity because I

Bug#748446: debian-security-support: Uninstallable with locale pl_PL (and possibly others)

* Christoph Biedl debian.a...@manchmal.in-ulm.de, 2014-05-26, 13:16:
For a test: Prefix the comm invocation with LANG=C like this is done
a few lines above with $DPKG_QUERY. This should fix it, let me know
in either way.

FWIW, setting LANG is not necessarily sufficient, because it can be
overridden by various LC_* variables. You should use LC_ALL, not LANG.

Hi,

your package has hardcoded dependencies on
libboost-serialization1.54.0,libboost-iostreams1.54.0, libgoogle-glog0.
That's not how shared libs work.

Cheers,
Julien

Dear Maintainer,

During a rebuild of ruby-related packages your package failed to
build with these errors:

ERROR: Test ruby2.1 failed. Exiting.
===

Please note that the default ruby recently has been switched to 2.1
in sid. If your package doesn't already do this, please switch to
the ruby(-all)(-dev) metapackages and `dh_ruby --print-supported`
for detecting the ruby to build for.
(Also, if everything goes according to plan, this is the last ruby
transition for jessie.)

About the test rebuild: this build was done in a rather standard
sbuild/schroot setup, on an amd64 host where PID1 is provided by
systemd, and options passed to sbuild were:
  DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=parallel=12

Please find the full build log attached.

Thanks,

Bug#745556: kmail accepts invalid SMTP TLS certificate against user action

On Tue, Apr 22, 2014 at 10:33:28PM +0300, Rémi Denis-Courmont wrote:
The continue button yields another dialog letting the user choose how
long to accept the certificate, either forever, or only for the current
session. If the dialog is closed without answer, Kmail assumes forever.
At that point, the mail feeder will happily send user credentials over
 to the untrusted server.

This is a problem with kio. Closing the dialog causes the default option
to be selected. I have raised this in KDE BTS along with a proposed
patch: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335375

Dear release managers,

the original fix for CVE-2013-2217 was missing a proper cleanup of the
cache directories in tmp (#749073), which can lead to saturation of
the subdirectory limit (~32000 on ext3).

I would like to upload suds_0.3.9-1+deb6u2 with this patch backported from

It seems the build makes a second attempt (possibly just the install target
trying to satisfy a dependency) of building molly-guard.8. The problem might be
caused by the failing download attempt - the build system does not provide
network connectivity, which package builds must not rely on.

The full build log is attached.

FWIW, setting LANG is not necessarily sufficient, because it can be
overridden by various LC_* variables. You should use LC_ALL, not
 LANG.

Thanks for the heads-up, using LC_ALL=C in all places seems to do the
right thing.

Bug#749129: courier-mta-ssl: fails to install

2014-05-26 Thread Willi Mann
Hi Racke,

   Selecting previously unselected package courier-mta-ssl.
(Reading database ... 8752 files and directories currently installed.)
   Preparing to unpack .../courier-mta-ssl_0.73.1-1.1_amd64.deb ...
   Unpacking courier-mta-ssl (0.73.1-1.1) ...
   Setting up courier-mta-ssl (0.73.1-1.1) ...
cp: not writing through dangling symlink '/usr/lib/courier/esmtpd.pem'

Which comes from mkesmtpdcert. I've looked at whether this could be
fixed easily by changing the maintainer script. Unfortunately, this is
not possible - or at least, I do not see it.

The easiest way would probably be to fix mkesmtdcert to work again with
/usr/lib/courier/esmtpd.pem being a dangling symlink.

Unfortunately, there is another problem: mkesmtpcert is not idempotent:
Since creating the certificate is a multi-command process, an interrupt
at one of those commands would mean that an bogus cert file gets
created. Further invocations would not detect that the cert is bogus. So
a real fix would be to create the certificate in a temporary place -
which would require even bigger modifications to mkesmtpdcert.

Package: liferea
Version: 1.10.8-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,
the package liferea crashes predictably after 3 to 10 seconds from launch, in
the dmesg
i can see the problem as follows:

[46072.157858] pool[8262]: segfault at 10 ip 7f80fc8fa224 sp
7f80ecb8e540 error 4 in libpthread-2.18.so[7f80fc8f+18000]

i tried removing the config ($HOME/.liferea*) but the problem persists as soon
as i add the first feed.
This makes the package mostly unusable. If there are other information you need
or ways i can assist in triaging
the bug please let me know,
thanks

Bug#749410: isc-dhcp-client: shutdown/reboot hangs after K03rsyslog

2014-05-26 Thread Elimar Riesebieter
Package: isc-dhcp-client
Version: 4.3.0+dfsg-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Can'r run /etc/init/umountnfs.sh cleanly at shutdown/reboot. I am using
sysvinit. Umounting nfs3 shares manually before shutdown/reboot runs smooth.
There is no networkmanager or alike running on my systems. The behavior doesn't
depend on the kernel version (Debian or customized)

It seems that this bug is driven by isc-dhcp-client 4.3.0+dfsg-1. Changing to
the sid version 4.2.4-7 braught my system back to an assumable reboot/shutdown
behaviour.

Thanks
Elimar

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install. As per
definition of the release team this makes the package too buggy for a
release, thus the severity.

I won't comment yet on the substance or severity of the bug until I
have a chance to further investigate the issue; however, I do have an

Hello!

ucl currently fails to build from source on all architectures except
i386 and kfreebsd-i386 due to missing symbols in the symbols file
for the libary shipped.

Please update the symbols file according to the diffs generated during
the last builds on the buildds [1].

Please do not forget to fix the symbols file for the ports architectures
as well [2]!

Cheers,

Bug#749372: molly-guard: FTBFS - gzip: molly-guard.8.gz already exists; not overwritten

2014-05-26 Thread Jakub Wilk

Control: tags -1 + patch

* Michael Tautschnig m...@debian.org, 2014-05-26, 17:26:
It seems the build makes a second attempt (possibly just the install
target trying to satisfy a dependency) of building molly-guard.8.

Keeping the non-gzipped file around fixes the problem for me.

The problem might be caused by the failing download attempt - the build
system does not provide network connectivity, which package builds must
not rely on.

This warning is a red herring. There's actually no network access here,
thanks to the --nonet option.

Bug#749435: mpmath: FTBFS - build-depends on virtual package python-codespeak-lib

2014-05-26 Thread Michael Tautschnig
Package: mpmath
Version: 0.18-1
Severity: serious
Usertags: goto-cc

During a rebuild of all packages in a clean sid chroot (and cowbuilder+pbuilder)
the build failed with the following error.

   - Trying debhelper

   - Cannot install python-codespeak-lib; apt errors follow:

Package python-codespeak-lib is not available, but is referred to by another
package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'python-codespeak-lib' has no installation candidate

This package is a virtual package only, you will need to include an existing
alternative (there is a single one only anyway, python-py).

Best,
Michael

Bug#749443: libncursesada: FTBFS - build depends gnat, gnat-4.6

2014-05-26 Thread Michael Tautschnig
Package: libncursesada
Version: 5.9.20110404-10
Severity: serious
Usertags: goto-cc

During a rebuild of all Debian packages in a clean sid chroot (using cowbuilder
and pbuilder) the build failed with the following error.

[...]
 - Attempting to parse the build-deps
 - Considering build-dep dpkg-dev (= 1.16.1)

 - Considering build-dep debhelper (= 9)

 - Considering build-dep gnat-4.6
   - Trying gnat-4.6
   - Cannot install gnat-4.6; apt errors follow:
Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
Reading state information...
dpkg-dev is already the newest version.
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
gnat : Depends: gnat-4.9 but it is not going to be installed

This is caused by the build dependency on both gnat and gnat-4.6: gnat depends
on gnat-4.9, which replaces gnat 4.6.1.

Best,
Michael

Bug#749450: fonts-pecita: the source code is not available in the source package

2014-05-26 Thread Paul Wise
Package: fonts-pecita
Version: 3.3-1
Severity: serious
User: pkg-fonts-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: missing-source
Control: found -1 4.1-2

As you can see here, the preferred form for modification of this font is
clearly PecitaSource.sfd not Pecita.otf so the Debian package is
violating DFSG item 2. Please package up all the files at the URL below
except Pecita.otf (since it is generated) and run compile.pe at build
time to generate Pecita.otf.
