Package: postgresql

Justification: breaks unrelated software


The upgrade process failed on package postgres while restarting the server.
The error message was: 
    The PostgreSQL server failed to start. Please check the log output: 
    2012-05-11 11:13:33 WEST FATAL: could not open lock file 
"/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432.lock": Permission denied

Same error appears whe trying to start the package by hand, running 
/etc/init.d/postgres start

Tried to chmod 777 /var/run/postgresql but permissions are reset when 
restarting the server. 
Permissions on /var/run/postgresql are:
    drwxrwsr-x 2 postgres postgres 4096 May 11 10:21 /var/run/postgresql
