Sorry, there was a typo. I said that the ISO I tested is
"debian-9.0.0-amd64-i386-netinst.iso”, however it was
"debian-live-9.0.0-amd64-gnome.iso”.

Yes, I'm on the libre drivers (Gallium 0.4) in an old graphics card, a
Radeon 2400.

OK, so adding `plymouth-quit.service` anywhere at `display-manager.service`
breaks
the boot sequence. Why is it?
I read this old report on Fedora where they masked the Plymouth service as a Q
