Bug#532524: ghostscript: Interpreter revision (864) does not match gs_init.ps revision (865)
Package: ghostscript Version: 8.64~dfsg-6 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Just that. Whenever ghostscript tries to run (commandline gs, dvips, kghostview, probably CUPS as well?), it produces gs: Interpreter revision (864) does not match gs_init.ps revision (865). Nothing opens. Of course, all packages that require ghostscript are affected. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.29-2-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages ghostscript depends on: ii debconf [debc 1.5.26 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 3.1.3 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii defoma0.11.10-0.2Debian Font Manager -- automatic f ii ghostscript [ 8.64~dfsg-6The GPL Ghostscript PostScript/PDF ii gs-common 8.64~dfsg-7Dummy package depending on ghostsc ii gsfonts 1:8.11+urwcyr1.0.7~pre44-4 Fonts for the Ghostscript interpre ii libc6 2.9-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcups2 1.3.10-2 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libcupsimage2 1.3.10-2 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libgnutls26 2.6.6-1the GNU TLS library - runtime libr ii libgs88.64~dfsg-6The Ghostscript PostScript/PDF int ii libgssapi-krb 1.7dfsg~beta3-1MIT Kerberos runtime libraries - k ii libjpeg62 6b-14 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libpng12-01.2.37-1 PNG library - runtime ii libtiff4 3.8.2-11 Tag Image File Format (TIFF) libra ii zlib1g1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-13 compression library - runtime Versions of packages ghostscript recommends: ii psfontmgr0.11.10-0.2 PostScript font manager -- part of ghostscript suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Of course, all packages that require ghostscript are affected. Thanks for reporting bugs. Please, however, check if bugs have been reported already, to ease the burden on us a little bit. I recommend using the commandline tool reportbug, found in the Debian package of the same name. That tool guides you through relevant steps, including such lookup of existing bugs. The concrete bug has already been filed twice earlier today. Please inspect those for additional hints on workarounds.
