Package: washngo
Version: 2.9-1
Severity: serious

Hi John,

All versions of washngo from 2.9-1 on have been failing to build on powerpc,
with a timeout compiling WASH.HTML.HTMLPrelude98:

[...]
[35 of 76] Compiling WASH.HTML.HTMLTypedBase98 (WASH/HTML/HTMLTypedBase98.hs,
dist/build/WASH/HTML/HTMLTypedBase98.o )
[36 of 76] Compiling WASH.HTML.HTMLPrelude98 ( WASH/HTML/HTMLPrelude98.hs,
dist/build/WASH/HTML/HTMLPrelude98.o )
make: *** [install] Terminated
Build killed with signal 15 after 90 minutes of inactivity
[...]

A full build log for the latest failure can be found at
<http://buildd.debian.org/fetch.cgi?&pkg=washngo&ver=2.9-4.1&arch=powerpc&stamp=1162359785&file=log>.

Other haskell packages don't seem to have any problems on powerpc, so I'm
not sure what to make of this; but given the number of ghc-related RC bugs
currently held up in testing, it seems that this needs to be addressed one
way or another for the release. I will probably pull washngo from testing
within a day or two either way, since there are only two other packages
currently blocking the ghc 6.6 transition and neither of them have had any
action taken by the maintainer in response to the RC bugs filed against
them.

Thanks,

Closing; the problem was with the buildd.

Done, I simply built it so you will have to close the bug by hand. It
took some time to build by pbuilder but it was certainly not 90 minutes.
