It does not seem to be the same bug (or the patch provided does not apply and fix this bug). The version of libmysqlclient-dev currently available in unstable (version 5.1.62-1) does not provide the '--variable=pkglibdir' option (i.e. it is not recognised for mysql_config). Regards Javier
