 Judging from this bug and the statement that Arte regularly changes its
 streaming system, this package is a clear candidate for volatile for
 Squeeze+1.

Well, perhaps this is a good idea, we have time to see ;-)

Fortunately, Arte may stick with the current streaming system for some
times now that it seems stable.
(AFAIK, the former one has lasted some years)

Some news...

I will upload a new version which fix this bug as soon as
gst-plugins-bad 0.10.20 is released (2-3 weeks according to one of its
developers).

In the mean time, a pre-release may be uploaded to experimental (next
week probably).

Unfortunately, now that Squeeze is frozen, it is unlikely to migrate to
it. :-(
