DebianLive images are not for installing ?
Hello, I am sorry to be a bother, there seems to be a "rumour" of sorts, some people are claiming the Debian 9 live images can not be used to install Debian. http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&p=647025#p647019 "quoted"To point out first, it seems the Live image of Stretch is not for installation purposes, as others here have already discovered."end qouted". I could not find anything in the Debian documentation confirming this, but in any event, I am wondering if any one can confirm this, or is it a myth ? It seems odd that Debian would produce a live image that can not be used to install as well. Thank you, P.S. I am not subscribed to the list, but will check the archives for responses. Thank you again
Is there a text console flavor available of the Debian 9 (Stretch) Live CD installer?
Is there a text console flavor available of the Debian 9 (Stretch) Live CD installer? On the Live Install Images web page (https://www.debian.org/CD/live/), it says that the live images come in several flavors for desktop environments, and one text console flavor: standard. There was a text console flavor for Debian 8: https://cdimage.debian.org/mirror/cdimage/archive/8.8.0-live/amd64/iso-hybrid/ I don't see one listed for Debian 9: https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/9.0.0-live/amd64/iso-hybrid Has the text console Live CD installer been discontinued?
Thanks for helping with the release!
Hi all, Thanks to everybody who helped with testing our Stretch images yesterday. We would not have been able to release without you, and your assistance is massively appreciated! -- Steve McIntyre, Cambridge, UK.st...@einval.com "Managing a volunteer open source project is a lot like herding kittens, except the kittens randomly appear and disappear because they have day jobs." -- Matt Mackall

Control: tag -1 pending Hi, Stuart Prescott (2017-06-18): > Package: www.debian.org > Severity: important > > Hi! > > in amongst all the excitement of the stretch release, the downloads page [1] > has lost most of the download links. Marking this as pending… (And note taken for the next release cycle.) > [2] https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/DebianCD/ReleaseTesting/Stretch (Errata #2) Are we expected to see improvements in this area, or should we get rid of the multi-arch dvd link as well? (… hence not closing this bug report entirely). Added debian-cd@ to the loop. KiBi. signature.asc Description: Digital signature
