Did not really go as planned yesterday as a kernel bug with ext4 that
can corrupt data was found midway

any plans for when we do 12.4 testing instead?

Today Sunday 10th December or next weekend 15-17th December ?

Should be able to help 10th, 16th and 17th

Erm, astute readers will realise the 4th and 11th are Saturdays in
November, not December. The correct proposals should be:

2nd December (better for candence, no-go for me)
9th December (more likely suitable in practice)

I am available any of those days, but I think for now there's no task
for webmasters in point releases.

Donald (as press delegate) didn't accept my proposal in
https://lists.debian.org/debian-www/2023/07/msg00014.html saying that
the publicity team would care about all those tasks (I asked him to
reply to my message publicly but it didn't happen).

It seems indeed they handled the web part the last point releases, so I
assumed everybody is ok with the current status. Hence my no-reply about
12.3 until now.

If the DPL or delegated people prefer otherwise (i.e. that the web team
to care about any part of the workflow), please state it in public and
I'll do my best.

Assuming everyone's still OK with their previous responses, it looks
like we're going for December 9th. (Not the 11th, as Jonathan
apparently fails at using a calendar.)

If anyone's not happy with that, please yell *soon*.

Sorry for not replying sooner.

I'd prefer not the 2nd, because that means handling the freeze while at
miniconf. The 9th should be OK.

Hi Donald,

Andy was kind enough to host the images team this weekend such that the build
took place from his house on the other side of Cambridge (from "normal" at
Sledge's house),

Isy has important exams - so can't take part in the testing those weekends -
and Andy's been preemptive in confirming that he *can't* _host_ that weekend
but may be able to take part himself as part of the team.

It sounds as if we'll likely be back to Sledge's, then, if that is feasible.

Thanks to both Sledge and RattusRattus for unfailing hospitality.

I foresee a trip to Cambridge twice inside a fortnight for me, anyway.

Hi all.

I can do both weekends, but unfortunately Isy will be unavailable for either
date as she will be doing her mock exams.

Given Isy's exams however, it will not be possible to host the images team in

Press can do both weekends, will Andy's image host affect new dates proposed?

Planning for 12.3

2023-10-07 Thread Jonathan Wiltshire
Hi,

The next point release for bookworm should be around the end of November
2023. We're about a week behind cadence anyway, but I already know the 28th
November will be unsuitable (Cambridge mini-debconf) and the weekend
following is probably recovery time for a lot of people.

Much after that we get into holidays and well off cadence.

How about:
  4th December (better for cadence)
11th December (more likely suitable in practice)

Thanks,
