Hi, I was wondering how to proceed with switching packages on the first CDs to use xz compression. I have prepared a list of binary packages which would benefit the most from switching, see [1]. My suggestion is to now switch the default compression for GNOME and KDE packages to xz using gnome-p

Hi, [ please CC me on replies ] I just noticed that the latest package lists for the GNOME and KDE CDs also include packages from contrib. As these are not part of Debian and depend on non-free/unpackaged bits anyway, I feel these should not be included on the official installation media. Regar
