shouldn't pmount-hal & hald respect something like <merge key="volume.policy.mount_option.acl" type="bool">true</merge> or <merge key="storage.policy.mount_option.acl" type="bool">true</merge> for removable storage devices for example? I'm not sure which would be the correct one. Anyway, apparently there's currently no way to get removable devices with acl mounted by hald.
