Update: Problem still exists. However I managed to get touch-pad back to
work after putting my Yoga laptop to suspend mode and back on. After the
power is restored the touch-pad works. After full power cycle (power off
and back on) it is again in non-working state.
I have also reproduced this

touchpad of IdeaPad Yoga 13 stopped working. Both touch plate and
buttons are not working.
This laptop also has a touch screen and it is still working without
problems.
