howto (apt-)get only ./debian dir of a package?

there is $ apt-get source pkg but usually i just want to peek at the ./debian directory to learn from others doing, or i want to try the official ./debian stuff on a cvs version, ... the question is can i? (i know i can check on the packages.debian.org, but can i get 'em without the need of a brow
