Dear all,With about 2 months to go until the first freeze, a fresh plea [1,2,3] to fix RC bugs in key packages [4]. Currently we have 255 RC bugs in key packages affecting bookworm [5] of which 184 are unresolved in unstable or experimental, aren't pending and don't have a patch. Here are again 5 RC bugs in key packages to draw attention to this class of bugs. Remember, resolving these bugs is a collective effort.
#994510 libunwind8 abuses setcontext() causing SIGSEGV on i386 with glibc >= 2.32 https://bugs.debian.org/994510 #997587 node-requestFTBFS: dh_auto_test: error: /bin/sh -ex debian/tests/pkg-js/test returned exit code 1
https://bugs.debian.org/997587 #972146 mono-runtime-common/usr/share/applications/mono-runtime-common.desktop: should not handle MIME type by executing arbitrary code
https://bugs.debian.org/972146 #996780 gnome-boxes Systematic system freeze few seconds after launching a Windows WM https://bugs.debian.org/996780 #1000955 libkf5globalaccel-bin /usr/bin/kglobalaccel5 eats up huge amount of CPU after suspend https://bugs.debian.org/1000955I am asking for help with investigating RC bug reports, judging severity, reproducing the issue, clarifying the problem, i.e. bug triaging of all RC bugs that haven't seen activity for a while and that are still affecting bookworm. Of course ideally the bug gets fixed.
Remember, if you really think a bug shouldn't be RC (particularly if you are the maintainer), downgrade it with an explanation. If in doubt, leave you note in the bug report.
