While I considered debian-mentors@l.d.o usually the proper list to find
a solution for problems in watch files I agree that this should be made
public also on debian-devel.  It seems quite some packages are affected:

My guess is that most of these watch files might be not working any more.
May be gitmode as proposed by Juri Grabowski[2] is a promising solution
(but as I wrote in my response it does not create the link to orig.tar.gz).
