hardly surprising, given that the path you've supplied doesn't - and isn't expected to - exist. As http://www.debian.org/security/ says, it should be: deb http://security.debian.org/ sarge/updates main contrib non-free (obviously contrib and non-free are optional, but (sarge|stable)/updates is one
