A kernel/d-i team meeting was recently held to review the status of
2.6.8. The team leads involved eventually decided to stay with kernel
2.6.8 and 2.4.27, rather than bumping the 2.6 kernel to 2.6.10. This
decision was made upon review of the

The #3 blocker, kdelibs 3.3, is still not being considered as a
candidate for sarge. Release-critical updates to KDE packages still
need to be uploaded to testing-proposed-updates.

which time the projected schedule had us freezing testing and releasing
d-i RC2 today, so we're overdue for another update.

release, now that the new installer is on the home stretch. The release
