When you install some applications marked depending on gnome-session, 
update-alternative enforce you to use it, even if you only whish to run 
gtk based applications on a simple window manager no needing 
gnome-session at all. Please, fix it.

This is not a bug in dpkg, this just needs that you configure your system
properly. Please check the updates-alternatives man page.
