Wildcard symbols do not allow this currently since you don't have any
comprehensive list of symbols in the reference symbol file. Any symbol
in the final file is _not_ in the original file and thus the current code
triggers for all symbols. That's the reason why it's disabled.
But we could possibly change that to fail if we have symbols not covered
by one of the wildcards in the source file... it would indeed be more
logical.
