Welcome page translation statistics

When a Debian Edu user log in for the first time, a welcome page is
shown.  This page is translated to 8 langauges, but it would be nice
to get more translations.  This is the current status:

de.po: 40 translated messages, 3 fuzzy translations.
es.po: 40 translated messages, 3 fuzzy translations.
fr.po: 43 translated messages.
it.po: 39 translated messages, 4 fuzzy translations.
nb.po: 43 translated messages.
nl.po: 39 translated messages, 4 fuzzy translations.
ru.po: 43 translated messages.
zh.po: 40 translated messages, 3 fuzzy translations.

Anyone know any other languages and are interested in translating?
The source files are available from
URL: svn://svn.debian.org/debian-edu/trunk/src/debian-edu-config/www .

To translate, copy index.pot to langcode.po, and start translating.
When you are done, submit the translation as a wishlist bug to
bugs.debian.org against the debian-edu-config package.

It would be great if these translation files could be merged with the
files in debian/po/, to allow translators to only update one file for
the debian-edu-config package.  Anyone interested in implementing this?

It would be even greater if Iceweasel would get the correct langauge
version of the web page when showing the welcome page.  At the moment
the english page is shown and the user need to click on the language
button to get their translated page. :(

Additional tests for multimedia plugin page

Hi all,

I just stumbled across this web page (in danish) about how to get access 
from Linux to archives and streams of DR (danish public service TV):

The page mentions a few additional requirements/wishes that are 
different from raw MIME codecs mainly used at 
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/BrowserMultimedia - specifically...:


  * Support for wind (fast-forward)
  * Summaries of a program must start at beginning of summary, not 
beginning of whole show

  * Ability to select quality  (high, low).
  * Ability to switch to fullscreen
  * Ability to select video output mode (xv does not work with all 
graphics cards)
  * Ability to not blank screen in middle of film (DPMS off) 

Perhaps some here on the list find it relevant to test and update the 
charts at http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/BrowserMultimedia to document 
those criteria too.

holger: I did mention that i had not tested the issue myself. only
observed talk on #ltsp regarding the issue.

Klausade did note the cpu usage and disk consumtion, when logging in the
first time. Is there something special in our debian-edu setup that
triggers akonadi on login ? if it was started only when, and in a ionice
fashion. It would spread out more.

also is this only the first time a user log in, or every time a user log
in ?

I think we need to test this more :)

Hello Pere. i am from são paulo - brazil and i am interested in translate to 
pt-br portuguese brazil.

here in some libraries where i have free access to web, using gnu /
debian, from prefeitura de são paulo, we do not have access to
svn://svn...


 Anyone know any other languages and are interested in translating?
 The source files are available from

Please there are other way to get, translate and put again in debian-edu 
repository?
My interest is translate debian-edu using computers available in public 
libraries from in more than 370 telecentros 
in url:
