Bug#629367: gosa: not all GOto/GOsa system types available in Debian Edu' GOsa
severity 629367 wishlist retitle 629367 Add GOto workstation support for Debian Edu wheezy thanks Hi, On Mo 06 Jun 2011 00:20:59 CEST Mike Gabriel wrote: Currently, GOsa in Debian Edu allows two system types to be added:# o servers o netdevices We currently use netdevices for adding workstations, but in GOsa there should actually be a system type ,,workstation'' by itself that we should be able to add. This is important for completing the Samba work for Debian Edu. This bug report refers to adding the package gosa-plugin-goto to GOsa² in Debian Edu. I tested GOsa² with gosa-plugin-goto and it is nice. But: it adds many functionalties and features that are nice, do not work out of the box and raise errors that we would have to deal with. Thus, changing this request to severity: wishlist and suggesting to keep this issue for wheezy. For now probably all IPv6 networks are dual with IPv4 too. You certainly do not want to have IPv6 hosts at schools... Pure IPv6 does not know about NATted networks. Every host in an IPv6 network has a publicly unique IP. My recommendation for Skolelinux is to use NAT 4-to-6 if IPv6 (Asian ISP market, etc.) is really an issue. That is: use IPv4 . For Debian Edu squeeze I recommend reduction of log errors in favour of thinking full IPv6 networking within the SL intranet. And note: I have not disabled IPv6 completely on tjener and clients. The patch only addresses Samba. Hi Andi, On So 04 Sep 2011 21:26:40 CEST Andreas B. I have a setup with Kerberos clients running fine here with only preseeding krb5-config. Adding 'allow_weak_crypto = true' was needed for NFS (which should be in place already). I think you are right, but I have just shortly looked in the krb5-config package and it does not open up to me immediately. There are quite a few variables for krb5-config package. If you have a running setup, do you think you could commit the needed changes? That would be great. Also: on diskless workstations the preseeding values for krb5-config do not all ,,arrive'', only the default_realm is set, but not the INTERN = {servers} server definitions... That's why I chose cfengine in the first place... Good morning, On So 04 Sep 2011 22:35:30 CEST Holger Levsen wrote: P.S.: even though you don't need NAT with IPv6, you can still firewall machines :) Yes, and: IPv6 needs a complete separate firewall setup. An IPv4 firewall (that's what most firewalls do) does not block a single IPv6 packet. IPv4 firewalled networks are open gates once you setup IPv6 without re-working your firewall setup in IPv6. This we neither want to do on d-e squeeze, do we?
