Well, I found the reason. With gcc-4.3 with_common_libs is set to "no" in
debian/rules.def. So p
I recently tried to install the cross-build chain on i386 unstable for
powerpc.
apt-get install gcc-4.3-powerpclinux-gnu
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
gcc-4.3-powerpc-linux-gnu: Depends: libgcc1-powerpc-cross (>= 1:4.3.3-13)
but it is not going to be installed
