Hi,
(1) Reinstallation of the latest version of libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 succeeded.
(2) Then I tried upgrade to libc6 2.5-2, I encounterd the same error (dpkg
log is shown below).
The situation did not change even if run 'mv /lib/tls /lib/tls.old' between
(1) and (2).

There is no trace of libc 2.5 in the directory. It seems the package has
not been upgraded, and so that the bug is in libc 2.3.6.
Could you please to reinstall the latest version of libc 2.3.6 (ie
2.3.6.ds1-13) before doing the upgrade?
Here is my 'ls -l /lib' output.

Oh, your problem looks
Thank you for the response.
Here is output of 'ls -l /lib/tls' and content of /var/log/dpkg.log.
BTW, I run mv /lib/tls /lib/tls.old' and then tried upgrade again,
but I encountered the same error. Maybe I missed something to do.

I failed to upgrade libc6.
