In postinst:
  # Uncomment selected locales
echo "$SELECTED_LOCALES" | while read locale ; do
sed -i -e "0,/^[# ]*$locale *$/ s/^[# ]*$locale *$/$locale/" $LG

should become :

sed -i -e "1,/^[# ]*$locale *$/ s/^[# ]*$locale *$/$locale/" $LG

ie sed 1, not sed 0, .

this fixes locales selection and let any locale behing generated in the non

I found out I had busybox sed due to a faulty initramfs unpack. Closing this

tzdata override disparity

2011-03-23 Thread Debian Installer
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

tzdata-java_2011d-0lenny1_all.deb: package says section is java, override says
volatile/main/libs.
tzdata_2011d-0lenny1_all.deb: package says section is libs, override says
volatile/main/libs.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please reply to this mail and explain why.

Thanks a lot for the clear explanations, it something I'll keep
preciously for the next uploads.

I have uploaded tzdata 2011d to volatile, lenny and squeeze, I hope
everything will be fine.

Taking the easy one first :-)

volatile

Target either "lenny-volatile" or "oldstable"; the latter means you can
re-use the upload for ftp-master. This should include the .orig.tar.gz

ftp-master
==

lenny: Target "lenny" or "oldstable".
squeeze: Target "squeeze" or "stable"; SRM will then add it to
squeeze-updates.

As a general rule, when you're uploading the same upstream version to
multiple distributions at the same time only one of them should include
the .orig.tar.gz; otherwise queued on ftp-master will helpfully silently
delete the second and subsequent uploads before they even reach dak.

In this case I'd suggest including the .orig.tar.gz in the lenny upload,
so that you can simply re-upload that to volatile.

As an added note to the above, "same time" is potentially a period
lasting several days. If, for example, you'd uploaded the unstable
package yesterday, the .orig.tar.gz would still be visible on
http://incoming.debian.org/ and should not be included.

In summary for this upload:

- volatile - lenny-volatile or oldstable, include .orig
- lenny - lenny or oldstable, include .orig
- squeeze - squeeze or stable, don't include .orig

Hope that helped.

Regards,

Adam

I should have a bit of time tonight to work on that, unless Clint does
it before. I have already something ready (but currently a too bad
connection to do something else than mail).

However I have to say I am a bit lost with volatile, updates and so on.
If I understand correctly, we should have a new version in
lenny-volatile and squeeze-updates, and in fine also in lenny and
squeeze. What are the required uploads to reach this state, which suites
to target and in which case should I include a .orig.tar.gz with the
upload?

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,

locale.gen has locales in arbitrary order, with some new locales added
at the bottom, some locales appearing at the top, and the rest in sorted
order. This makes it difficult to compare two different versions of
locale.gen, such as via etckeeper. In my case, this came up when
attempting to merge an old system's /etc into the /etc of its
replacement system; locale.gen had many changes to the ordering of
locales, but none of them had semantic significance. Please consider
sorting the locales in /etc/locale.gen. The exact sort order doesn't
matter, as long as it has some canonical ordering. (In particular, it
doesn't matter if the sort order puts enabled locales first/last or
sorts them together with disabled locales.)

tzdata override disparity

2011-03-23 Thread Debian FTP Masters
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

tzdata-java_2011c-0lenny1_all.deb: package says section is java, override says
libs.

Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the
archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell,
httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video,
xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into
these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if
the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package
at the next upload.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and
explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we
won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information.

Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the
following format:

Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority

Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you already filed a bug
and have not received a response yet, please ignore this mail. Your bug
needs to be processed by a human and will be in due course, but until
then the installer will send these automated mails; sorry.]
