I don’t know what to do with this message from update-grub, perhaps you do:

udevadm: Relink `/lib/x86_64-linux-gnux32/libkmod.so.2' with
`/lib/x86_64-linux-gnux32/libpthread.so.0' for IFUNC symbol `system'

This was printed a hundred times or so to the terminal.

Package: libc6
Version: 2.25-1
Severity: important

Hi!
After upgrading libc6 to 2.25-1, most components of openrc segfault on
startup. This is pretty uncool for something that handles init scripts: it
renders the system effectively unbootable (strictly speaking, it boots, init
does its thing, but I for one would prefer hostname set, non-root
filesystems mounted, ssh running -- that sort of things).

Obviously, this is a severity:critical bug in openrc, and it's up to one of
its uploaders to fix it. Which we just did in 0.27-2.

But, that's not enough, as if libc6 is upgraded first (or only, on partial
upgrades), the user will end-up with openrc 0.27-1 but new libc. Thus,
there's a need to prevent such situation. Usually, we add Breaks: but
that's not enough:
• openrc is deconfigured
• libc6 is upgraded
• a daemon tries to stop or restart -- boom!

Thus, the obvious approach is to add "Conflicts: openrc (<< 0.27-2~)" to
libc6 and its arch variants (libc{6.1,0.1,0.3}). I'm not sure that's the
best solution: apt may prefer to instead remove openrc, and some other
upgrade non-nicety is likely to pop up in the future.

Would you have a better idea? If not, please add this Conflicts: stanza.

Meow!

Dear Maintainer,

The nptl/tst-create-detached test fails on hppa with a TIMEOUTFACTOR of
25. Either the timeout value for the test needs to be increased from 100
to about 500, or the test needs to be xfailed. I think we need about a
factor 4 or 5 increase for the slower buildd machines.

Full log is here:

Dave

Since stretch's dpkg has support mips r6 architectures and DSA are
also using it,
we can add mips r6 support now.

MIPS release r6 architectures are new release of MIPS, while they are
not compatible
with the r5/r2 ones.
So we need to treat them as new architectures.

There are also 6 flavors:
 mipsr6 mipsr6el  mipsn32r6 mipsn32r6el  mips64r6 mips64r6el

In this patch, I also include:
  symbol file for mipsn32/mipsn32el/mips64.

Package: libc6
Version: 2.24-11+deb9u1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Upgrade of glibc packages from jessie to stretch versions failed
resulting in most programs (presumably all non-static 32-bit ones) to
segfault on start. I believe the following happend:
1. libc6:i386 and libc6:amd64 2.24-11+deb9u1 were unpacked,
/etc/ld.so.nohwcap was created by preinst scripts.
2. postinst of libc6:amd64 started running and removed
/etc/ld.so.nohwcap (as $hwcappkgs is empty for amd64).
3. As libc6-i686 2.19-18+deb8u10 was still installed most applications
started segfaulting (including most essential ones).

Unfortunately, I did not have any root shell open, and while
export LD_HWCAP_MASK=0
workaround worked on many applications, it had no effect on setuid
programs (like su and sudo). I had to resolve the problem by rebooting
system with break=init argument and running
touch /root/etc/ld.so.nohwcap
from initramfs shell (and later calling
dpkg --purge libc6-i686
before finishing upgrade of libc6:amd64).

This probably should be fixed by replacing

case ${DPKG_MAINTSCRIPT_ARCH} in
alpha)
hwcappkgs="libc6-alphaev67"
;;
i386)
hwcappkgs="libc6-i686 libc6-xen"
;;
kfreebsd-i386)
hwcappkgs="libc0.1-i686"
;;
esac

with something like

hwcappkgs="libc6-alphaev67 libc6-i686 libc6-xen libc0.1-i686"

or

hwcappkgs="libc6.1-alphaev67:alpha libc6-i686:i386 libc6-xen:i386
libc0.1-i686:kfreebsd-i386"

in debian/script.in/nohwcap.sh.

This manual is non-free, so it's clearly not glibc-doc, but
glibc-doc-reference. Please check the content of packages before
reporting bug, also please avoid abusing severity even if you are upset
by the issue. Patches are welcome.
