just a question: what do you do if the perl that ends up
in wheezy depends on eglibc 2.13 (e.g. due to some symbol
use)? That will make upgrades impossible…

Would be fine if I understand correctly. Upgrade path:
deconfigure perl
unpack libc, perl
configure libc
configure
