Source: glibc Version: 2.24-8 Severity: wishlist User: helm...@debian.org Usertags: rebootstrap
Hi! I have recently acquired a Mimas v2 board which allows to run the open source CPU J-Core [1] in an FPGA. J-Core is an open source reimplementation of the SuperH architecture which is currently present as "sh4" in Debian. This year, the J-Core team plans to release the J-3 CPU which is an open source reimplementation of the SH-3 CPU. Since Debian has already partial support for SH-3 (dpkg, openssl, toolchain), it would be nice to have "sh3" added to the list of architectures in the glibc package the same way "nios2" was added in [2]. This way, Helmut Grohne can enable "sh3" for rebootstrap and we see where can go from there to run Debian on J-Core. Thanks, Adrian > [1] http://j-core.org/ > [2] https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=817944 -- .''`.
