I believe cmd64x can be disabled. I don't believe cmd64x PATA is built into any PA-RISC system. cmd680 PATA driver is needed for C8000: http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-parisc/msg02761.html (More info on C8000 http://www.openpa.net/systems/hp_c8000.html ) At one point, we might have thought c8000 had the same CDM649 PATA controller as it's IA64 cousin, zx2000.
